TDM city accelerates towards finish line

Since early this year, Thu Dau Mot (TDM) city’s Party Committee has focused on leading and directing the political system to make efforts, promote a sense of responsibility, overcome difficulties and accelerate economic and social development. This has included maintaining political stability, social order- safety and improving people's lives. The achievements made in 2024 will serve as a foundation for the city to successfully accomplish its goals and tasks in 2025 and throughout the 2020-2025 tenure.

Targets with impressive growth

According to a report presented at the 40th meeting of Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Executive Committee, the city's economic development has consistently maintained stable growth, with the average annual growth rate exceeding 27%. The economic structure has continued shifting towards a focus on trade and services, followed by industry and agriculture, with corresponding proportions of 60.90%, 39.07%, and 0.03%. The city’s total retail sales revenue of goods and services is estimated at VND 31.85 trillion, marking an increase of 28.07% compared to the same period last year. The city’s industrial production value is estimated at more than VND 75.74 trillion, up 27.54% year-on-year. The city has also conducted evaluations, classifications and awarded 82 certificates for 3-star OCOP products.

One of TDM city’s standout achievements in 2024 is the local urban beautification efforts

One of the city’s key achievements in 2024 is the urban rejuvenation efforts, with a focus on continuing the implementation of urban renovation under the city’s People's Committee’s Plan No.125/KH-UBND dated June 7, 2021 on the implementation of the city’s Party Committee’s Program No. 13-CTr/TU, dated December 9, 2020, rejuvenating Thu Dau Mot’s urban areas for the 2020-2025 period. To date, the urban green space per person has reached 15m²; the ratio of traffic land to built-up land stands at 28%; the main road density is 13.2 km/km²; and the average residential floor area is 40m² per person. Additionally, the city has focused on creating urban highlights to enhance its aesthetic appeal, successfully completed 150 parks, flower gardens, small islands, and lawns, achieving 125% of the set goal.

Implementing 3 breakthroughs, 2 focuses

At the 40th meeting of TDM city’s Party Executive Committee, Nguyen Van Dong, Secretary of TDM city’s Party Committee urged all-level authorities, sectors and the entire political system of the city to commit to implementing the targets of the 2025 resolution and achieving the goals set for the 2020-2025 term starting from December 1, 2024. This includes focusing on key tasks based on the 3 breakthroughs and 2 focuses outlined by provincial Party Committee. These are: the breakthrough in mobilizing resources for investment; the breakthrough in public investment leading private investment and overall social investment and the breakthrough in organizational implementation. In parallel, the city will focus on two key areas: further maintaining national defense and security while improving social welfare and strengthening leadership to successfully organize Party congresses at all levels towards the 12th provincial Party Congress and the 14th National Party Congress.

In 2025, Thu Dau Mot city will be determined to direct the synchronous implementation of measures to ensure the timely progress of construction as well as the prompt disbursement of funds for projects and works using provincial budget resources and the city’s allocated State budget for 2025. The city aims at completing the handover of land for several key projects as planned. Additionally, efforts will be made to complete and initiate the construction of new projects in the coming period to celebrate the upcoming TDM city’s Party congress for the 2025-2030 tenure.

In addition, the entire Party Committee of the city will focus on improving the quality of Party cells’ meetings, Party work, ensuring compliance with procedures and guidelines from the Central Organization Commission. At the same time, greater efforts will be made to strengthen Party member development and build grassroots Party organizations, with attention given to preparations for mergers in line with the spirit of the Party Central Committee’s Resolution No. 18.

Regarding preparations for Party congresses at all levels, Secretary of the city’s Party Committee emphasized the importance of making the congress’s documents that are concise, specific and reflective of real-life issues, ensuring that the resolutions can be effectively implemented. He also urged agencies, units and localities to clearly define responsibilities of each sector in the digital transformation process. He stressed the need to take decisive actions in public investment, particularly in handling compensation and site clearance, ensuring social welfare and promoting cultural and artistic activities while also improving the living standards of the people.

In addition to carrying out key and ongoing tasks, in 2025, TDM city will further focus on developing high-quality services. The city will proactively collaborate with provincial agencies to create favorable conditions for attracting investment into local industrial parks, with a priority on developing knowledge-intensive industries that do not cause environmental pollution. The city will support small and medium-sized enterprises in technology innovation, applying science and technology in production and encouraging the conversion of functions and relocation to industrial parks as planned. The city will also focus on developing high-quality commercial and service sectors, leveraging advantages and high added values while expanding the network of traditional markets, night markets, supermarkets and other high-quality service models that have been planned…

With comprehensive achievements done in aspects in 2024, it is believed that Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Committee will further lead the successful implementation of the goals and tasks for 2025 and the entire 2020-2025 term. This will lay the foundation for realizing the goal of building TDM into a civilized, prosperous and modern city, being worthy of its position as the political, economic, cultural and urban hub of the province.
