TDM, Dau Tieng’s Blind Associations donate 67 “great unity”, charity houses to needy members

Early April 14, TDM city’s Blind Association held a get-together to mark the 47^th anniversary of the Vietnam Blind Association (April 17, 1969-April 17, 2016).

The city’s Blind Association now has a total of 150 members. Over the past time, the association mobilized its members to unite and be proactive to rise up and integrate into the community. It built, upgraded 16 “great unity” houses worth nearly VND200mln; set up 54 projects providing 641 members with VND3.5bln in loan to develop production-business models; established a massage facility, generating jobs for 20 laborers with the average income of more than VND2mln per capita per month.

The district’s Blind Association has to date set up 12 branches in communes and Dau Tieng township with 152 members. Over the past years, the association held many practical movements that were linked with the local program on hunger eradication and poverty reduction. Accordingly, 100% of the association’s members were granted health insurance cards and 100% of the blind’s offspring were exempted from school fees. The association also mobilized organizations, individuals to build and donate 47 “great unity” houses, 4 charity ones to members in need of housing with a total expense of more than VND668mln; presented 49 saving books worth more than VND11mln, set up 39 projects providing 442 members with more than VND1.61trillion in loan to develop production-business models…
