Teaching staff meets up requirements of education reforms

In the stage of industrialization and modernization, the training up of teaching and education managing staffs in terms of profession and career devotion to meet up requirements of the sector.On the occasion of marking Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, we meet Director of Education and Training, Mr. Duong The Phuong regarding the improvement of teacher quality in the new stage.- Reporter: To basically and thoroughly reform education and training to satisfy requirements of industrialization and modernization, what have been done as preparation, sir?- Mr. Duong The Phuong: To implement objectives of education and training,the sector has built up project of “Building up teaching and managing staffs from 2011 to 2015” with major objectives of reforming management, developing and improving quality of human resources for education and training sector to meet up developmental requirements of the province in the stage of industrialization and modernization. 
Teachers of Dinh Hoa Elementary School in Thu Dau Mot City is offering methodology reforms to help students’ learning The teaching and managing staffs should be built up in standardization orientation and assurance of quality, structures,quality, political qualification, ethics, lifestyle, consciences, and profession to satisfy the demanding requirements of educational cause.Particularly, profession capacity and foreign language competence should be elevated to meet the demands of reforms during the stage of integration, technical qualification improvement, and effective use of modern facilities.It is targeted to 2015 that the staffs in all learning levels of the province shall be standardized by over 40-45%.- Reporter: In 3 year of project implementation, what have been achieved, sir?- Mr. Duong The Phuong: Ever since 2011 or the approval date of the project, the department has demanded offices of education and training across districts, towns, Thu Dau Mot City, and related units in accordance with objectives of the project in planning up training the staffs. Units have reviewed its staffs to plan up training from 2011 to 2015 and year on year training.The Department has coordinated with Thu Dau Mot University, Technical Training University of Ho Chi Minh City, Eastern International University, Ho Chi Minh City School of Managing Staff, and Binh Duong Medical College to enhance training courses.Accordingly, university classes should be open to source high school teachers, school medical officers, managing staffs of high schools, improving qualification, standardization, and foreign language competence of teachers in all grades.In 3 years of the projects, demands have been gradually met with positive transformation while majority of targets have been surpassed comparing to previous academic term.- Reporter: What shall be done from now to 2015, sir?- Mr. Duong The Phuong: To meet the targets, the sector shall promote planned training forms. Profession training shall be promoted higher than standards of managing staffs at all training grades with concentration on preschools, senior high schools, and vocational junior college.University training shall be promoted, especially at preschools.Foreign language competence training shall be intensified among the staffs. Training of managing staffs and ascending management generation shall be intensified. Training up English teachers under project of “Improving English learning and teaching quality in high schools from 2012 to 2017 in Binh Duong Province” shall be established.- Reporter: Thank you!Interviewed by H.
