In order to ensure that people in the area can enjoy the spring and welcome safely, fully and warmly the Lunar New Year – the year of the rabbit in 2023, Binh Duong provincial authority has focused on caring and ensuring the livehood of its people particularly focusing on children in special and harsh circumstances throughout the province.
“Spring with children living in hardship”
The program of "Spring with children living in hardship" is held every year to create conditions for children with extremely adverse circumstances, orphans and disabled children to have the opportunity to meet, exchange and have fun on the occasion of Tet, showing the interest of the whole society in the protection, care and education of children in the province. This year, the series of such activities will take place in January 2023.

For poor children, Tet is the very meaningful days that they are looking forward when they can wear new clothes and enjoy many delicious dishes or receive lucky money. Therefore, the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has planned to organize the program of “Spring with children living in hardship”; at the same time, the department has actively mobilized socialization to increase resources for gifts, scholarships, and sponsorship for poor children and children in extremely adverse circumstances.
Talking to us, Nguyen Ngoc Hang - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, said that Binh Duong will organize 3 trips of the program in January 2023. It is expected that the program will give out 820 gifts to orphans, disabled and disadvantaged children in Thuan An city, Bau Bang district, Dau Tieng district, and those children at the provincial Association of the Blind and the Pho Hien Orphanage in Bau Bang district.
Besides, the province also organizes the 16th live television program in 2023 at the Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center on January 9, 2023. Coming to the program, 980 children with extremely harsh circumstances will have the opportunity to enjoy many special performances, receive meaningful gifts from sponsors including a long-term sponsorship program for children orphans due to COVID-19.
Enjoyable Tet welcoming
Taking care of children is the responsibility of the whole society. In addition to gifts from the province, districts, towns and cities, the budget is also used to buy and give Tet gifts to children. For this year, the provincial Children's House also organize many attractive cultural and artistic activities; thereby, mobilizing resources to support the "Spring Tree" fund to take care of children in difficult circumstances during Tet.
In particular, the "Tet of Heart" 2023 and humanitarian activities of the provincial Red Cross Society have also been spreading everywhere. On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnamese Red Cross (November 23, 1946 to November 23, 2022), the provincial Red Cross organized many meaningful humanitarian activities in 9 districts, towns and cities, in which many gifts including bicycles and scholarships are given students with harsh circumstances.
The COVID-19 pandemic has left severe consequences plunging many businesses to difficulties. However, in order for all children to enjoy spring and celebrate Tet in a warm and peaceful atmosphere, Binh Duong has been mobilizing economic organizations, businesses and benefactors to join hands to take care of and encourage them by spiritual, material support, and gifts to children as the meaningful work contributing to deepening the spirit of mutual affection, and being a great source of encouragement for the children to make more efforts to rise up in life and strive towards a brighter future.
