Thanh Hoi towards a model new-style rural commune

Tan Uyen town’s Thanh Hoi commune now has a well-built infrastructure system with the spiritual and material lives of people improved. This result is attributed from the efforts of the local Party, government and people.

Firm strides

The National Target Program on New-Style Rural Construction is defined as one of major and long-term tasks for the development of Thanh Hoi commune in Tan Uyen. The commune’s Party Committee has made efforts in the implementation of the program. Particularly, the commune has actively responded to the campaign of “All people consolidate to build cultural lifestyle in residential quarters” in association with the emulation movement of “The whole province joining hands in new-style rural construction” among officials, members of the local mass organizations; organized a plan on launching the emulation movement of building new-style rural households with green-clean and nice criteria…, thereby creating a high consensus among people from all strata.

Along with the State budget, the commune has also mobilized people to contribute money, working days to upgradimh many rural streets. Upon this, 100% of the local streets have been covered by asphalt or concrete. In the period of 2016-2018 alone, the commune carried out 16 traffic works with a total investment capital of VND15.4billion, including 14 in-field and rural traffic streets of 5 km with VND12billion. People in the commune also contributed 8,729 square meters of land, working days and money to making the above traffic works. In addition, the commune realized socialization work in expanding the local ferry station from Thanh Hoi 3 route with a total expense of VND1billion, facilitating the local people’s traveling and goods transportation…

Further mobilizing resources for new-style rural construction

Noticeably, Thanh Hoi commune has so far developed some models with high economic efficiency, comprising of those of growing “bac ha” (scientifically called Colocasia) and pumpkin under VietGap standards; growing green vegetables in net houses with 7,000 square meters…The commune is also mobilizing people to grow many kinds of fruit trees with high economic value such as skin-green pomelo, orange, jackfruit…

The commune has also coordinated with the town’s Division of Economics, Plant Protection Station, Agricultural Promotion Station to open training courses on sci-tech transfer in cultivation…Upon this, the spiritual and material lives of the local people herein have been improved a lot. Their average income per capita was VND39.1million in 2016 and VND44.1million in 2017.

Truong Van Thanh Giang, Vice-Chairman of Thanh Hoi communal People’s Committee said that during the period of 2018-2020, the commune has continued strengthening propaganda work to mobilize resources for new-style construction towards enhancing the quality of criteria of the program. The commune has also concentrated on constructing rural socio-economic infrastructure facilities in a synchronous way; completed the local new-style rural construction work towards improving the quality of people’s life. In addition, the commune has attached special importance to hi-tech agricultural models in association with ecotourism; improved the quality of criteria of the new-style rural construction program under the province’s set of criteria…towards a model new-style rural locality.
