In 2013, through many useful movements like capital supporting, experience sharing, technology transferring etc., Women Union of Thanh Tuyen commune of Dau Tieng district has helped its members in bettering themselves, enriching their families, escaping from poverty, which reduced annual ratio of poor households in the commune.  Thanh Tuyen commune Women Union’s Chairwoman Duong Tuyet Huong (R) gave points to candidates at a Cooking contest on occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8th).Thanh Tuyen commune’s Women Union has now 11 affiliates including 2,066 members. During 2013, the union has organized many activities taking care of its member’s physical and mental living. Various emulation movements have been disseminated and launched, including movements of women engaging in learning, working, building happy family accompanied with implementing the movement “Learning and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral example”. In addition, the union realized extensively campaign of building family of “5 No 3 Clean”, contributing to new rural developing, morality practicing “Confident – Self-esteem – Faithful – Responsible”. Accordingly, 46 propaganda sessions were arranged to educate women on implementing policies, laws, practicing morality, and improving awareness.On the other hand, many programs assisting women in developing family economy were also carried out. In 2013, the union mobilized contributions worth over VND847mln from 475 well-off women to support 597 needy women, applied 2 new models of growing bonsai, orchids for 2 households of 2 women at Xom Ben hamlet and Xom Lam hamlet, and also support chicken rearing model of 5 households with 700 chickens.To assist women with production enhancing, improving life and reducing poverty sustainably, in recent years, poor women have been supported to access capital sources accompanied with solutions of improving capital using’s effectiveness. The union has cooperated with Social Policy Bank to disburse capital, current total outstanding loans is nearly VND10bln; maintained 15 piggy banks worth over VND35mln at affiliates, operated 24 capital rotating groups with 270 members and total capital of over VND62 mlnFurthermore, the union launched saving days for poor women and collected VND17mln; considered and granted loans to 20 poor members with total capital of VND40mln. Particularly, the union has implemented the movement of female members practicing thrift to help disadvantaged members. By now, the union has mobilized 833 members with total capital of nearly VND65mln, thereby, 30 women were granted loans worth over VND30mln.According to Thanh Tuyen commune Women Union’s Chairwoman Duong Tuyet Huong, in 2013, the union has made every effort to support women to develop family economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty. Through many practical activities, the union has not only improved its members’ physical, mental life but also helped the locality in implementing task of eliminating hunger, reducing poverty. The union will continue to set forth many useful activities to assist women in bettering life in the near future.During this year, Thanh Tuyen commune’s Women Union has persuaded members to support emulation project for needy women and children. Namely, affiliate at Xom Bung hamlet mobilized contributions from benefactors to construct compassionate houses worth VND40mln for 2 members; combined with other sectors to construct and offer compassionate houses worth VND90mln to 3 poor female members.
