Taking place at a time when socio-economic activities across the country have recovered strongly after the COVID-19 pandemic, when Binh Duong is proud to be honored by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) in the TOP 7 among the Association of Southeast Asian nations, the 17th Veterans Song Contest of Thuan An city attracted the enthusiastic participation of 10 units from the Veteran Association of communes and wards in Thuan An city. More than 200 actors and fans had the opportunity to immerse themselves in eloquent melodies praising the Vietnamese revolutionary tradition.

Along with the joyful and exciting atmosphere of the competition, we were able to experience the music with the units and go back in time to the heroic years of the nation. Each performance was performed by veteran members with enthusiasm, solidarity and high responsibility to recreate the heroic images of a time of hardships and challenges in the resistance war. Thereby, the performances helped viewers to have many emotions about love for the homeland, country, national pride, optimism and confidence in the innovation and development of the country.

Despite the age of over 60, every actor who went on stage sung his best. Although it was still clumsy at times, the passion for singing made each performance leave viewers with unforgettable emotions to revive the years of getting along Truong Son to save the nation.

Sharing with us about the joy of participating in the contest for the first time, Mr. Vu Quoc Dinh of Veteran Association of Vinh Phu ward, said that he previously lived in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh city and just moved to Ehome residential area 4. Ever since joining the veteran members of the ward to exchange and practice arts and crafts, he has found that he loves life and has been happier and healthier. Therefore, Mr. Dinh participated in two contests of the solo song and a duet.

As for Mr. Bui Lam Son of Veteran Association of An Thanh ward, this was an opportunity to remember the heroic years of youth when he was still a soldier fighting in the Cambodian battlefield. Son not only had a lot of fun in the process of practicing with the members, but he was also excited when the song still had its emotions intact and was enthusiastically applauded by the fans.

According to artist Thang Long, a member of the provincial Association of Literature and Arts, perhaps due to the influence of the COVID-19 epidemic, this year's competition's voice was not as good as in previous years. However, the optimistic spirit, fighting hard was always boiling in each performance. The performances were carefully staged to bring vivid colors to the competition.

Mr. Luu Van Dung, Chairman of the Veteran Association of Thuan An, said that the contest was organized to offer veteran officers and members chance to exchange experiences; thereby, creating a useful cultural and artistic playground for veterans' officers and members to live a happy and healthy life, and to encourage officials and members to enthusiastically participate in well performing the tasks of the Association. Good, unique, and high-prize-winning performances will be selected to perform at the Congress of Veteran Association of Thuan An for the 2022-2027 tenure.
