The 2023 exam support program: 30 volunteer teams take part in supporting contestants

Only a few more days until the students will enter the national high school graduation exam. This is an important turning point in a student's life. To help the students have more confidence and motivation, the Provincial Youth Union and the Secretariat of Provincial Student Association established 30 volunteer squads, who are ready to support the contestants before, during and after this important exam.

Exam support team of Nguyen Dinh Chieu High School includes 25 volunteers who are ready to support candidates and their family.

All are ready

These days, volunteers taking part in the exam support program 2023 are perfecting their paintings to cheer up the contestants' spirit. Not only that, the volunteers also designed book clips, beautiful crafts for contestants. Thai Chi Ngoang, a volunteer of exam support team of Nguyen Dinh Chieu High School, said: “My school's volunteer team consists of 25 students. Before the exam day, our team met and divided in groups to perform tasks. Group 1 is in charge of drawing posters, group 2 distributes water to contestants, and group 3 will assist contestants in exam room position. Currently, the team is ready to welcome and support contestants with all their might, contributing to the success of the exam."

In many districts, towns and cities, exam support hotlines set up and open 24/24 to receive information and answer questions about the high school graduation exam in 2023. In particular, in order to take good care of contestants having difficult circumstances before the exam, Provincial Youth Union and Provincial Student Association also awarded scholarships to support these students, such as orphaned students, disabled students, poor students overcoming difficulties to learn well, ensuring that each contestants having difficult circumstances receives support to confidently enter the exam.

Support candidates before, during and after the exam

Before the exam, Organizing Committee of the exam support program provided supports to contestants, such as financial support, stationery and exam training; timely information and give instructions to contestants on how to apply for admission to universities, colleges; organize counseling sessions, share experience, help students confidently take the exam.

On the other hand, universities, colleges, and districts, towns and city youth unions actively cooperate with departments, branches, schools, social organizations, collectives and individuals to establish volunteer youth squads willing to carry out activities meeting many needs of the contestants. That is the activity named "One student supports one contestant" through the online registration portal, which connects volunteers and contestants needing support, such as consulting, guiding contestant and their family to testing sites, exam rooms, assist in exam procedures, bus routes to testing sites; find and provide free or cheap accommodations for contestants and their family, distribute leaflets and manuals with necessary information to contestants, such as: bus routes, cheap places to eat, ensure food hygiene and safety; free motorbike taxi to transport contestants to testing sites…

In addition, to ensure the exam takes place safely, Organizing Committee of the exam support program also arranged extra volunteer squads in peak areas for guaranteeing security, order, traffic safety at testing sites; coordinate with competent agencies to promptly prevent negative phenomena affecting contestants, such as illegal issuance of documents, price increase of products and services, causing insecurity, theft, fraud, loss of traffic safety...; coordinate with localities, hospitals, medical stations, universities and colleges in handling unusual incidents in weather, accidents, health of contestants.

Especially, after contestants complete the high school graduation exam, they will continue to be assisted by volunteer youth squads to complete admission procedures; find safe and affordable lodging houses, helping students adapt to the new learning environment. In addition, Students’ Association of colleges and universities will also organize activities to welcome new students, helping new students have the opportunity to access activities and movements of the school.

Youth Unions and Students’ Associations continue to mobilize resources to award scholarships to new students and students having difficult circumstances, help students not have to leave school because of difficult family circumstances. In addition, Youth Union - Association of schools also has exchange activities, experience sharing between students.

“In order to prepare for exam support program in 2023, Standing Committee of Provincial Youth Union, the Secretariat of Provincial Students’ Association planned for the program very early. We directed unions and associations throughout the province to organize the selection of volunteers through Zalo and online social networking platforms, ensuring that numerous volunteers register to participate in this program. Thereby, 30 volunteer squads were established, including 29 district-level squads and 1 provincial-level squad with 1,210 participants. The teams will support contestants before, during and even after the national high school graduation exam. In order to best prepare for the exam support program, we have mobilized all resources, provided material facilities for volunteers, test sites and materials to support contestants and their family in the exam; organize knowledge and skills training for volunteers…”.
