The 4th Vietnam - Japan U13 International Youth Football Championship takes place in Binh Duong New City from March 18 to 20. Up to now, the tournament has been held through 4 years being interrupted because of the COVID-19 epidemic in 2021. At the age of 4, the tournament had the participation of 8 teams including Becamex Binh Duong, Kawasaki Frontale Dream Team, Ho Chi Minh City FC, Binh Phuoc FC, An Giang FC, Phu Nhuan (Ho Chi Minh City) FC, Van Tam Dong Nai FC and Binh Duong Youth Football Training Center. Due to the epidemic, this year's tournament did not have the participation of young teams from Japan.
However, in the composition of the Kawasaki Frontale Dream Team, there are two Japanese U13 players currently living and working in Vietnam. In addition, the presence of the leading youth training centers in Vietnam will contribute to improving the quality of the tournament. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, Mr. Yamada Takio said: “Despite the spreading of the Covid-19 epidemic, the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan are developing strongly in all fields. The 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries will be marked in 2023. I hope that the young generation, who will lead the new era of Japan and Vietnam, through football will enhance exchanges in depth, contributing to the development of Japan-Vietnam relations and the football world of the two countries
