The 7th Regional Arts Exhibition – the festival of Southeastern artists

The 7th Regional Fine Arts Exhibition is one of the important activities of the art community, organized alternately by provinces and cities in the Southeast region. The 29th exhibition - held in Binh Duong in 2024 - will officially open on August 6 at the provincial Museum, serving the public for visiting the exhibition until August 16, 2024.

After a year of tireless artistic creation, the art community in the Southeast region is excited to showcase their outstanding works at the 7th Regional Fine Arts Exhibition, which is also an opportunity for artists from the provinces in the Southeast region to exchange, share experiences, and enhance their creative professions. To ensure a successful exhibition, the Organizing Committee has been meticulous in all aspects and has prepared for the opening day on August 6.

In exchange with our reporters, sculptor Nguyen Hoai Huyen Vu (a member of the Binh Duong Fine Arts Association) said that he is very happy that Binh Duong is hosting the exhibition of Fine Arts in the Southeastern region this year. Some members of the provincial Literature and Arts Association and Vu have been assigned to support the design team in terms of construction and arrangement, and exhibition of artworks at the provincial Museum.

”This is an important event in our art zone as it is organized in rotation by provinces and cities in the Southeast region. The activities aim to honor and recognize artistic achievements, encourage artists, painters, and sculptors to create new works of value in terms of content and arts to serve the spiritual and cultural life of the people and contribute to the development of the Vietnamese arts and cultural sectors.”

According to Mr. Ngo Phuoc Chanh, Deputy Chairman of the provincial Literature and Arts Association, the 29th Fine Arts Exhibition of the 7th Region in 2024 is organized by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association in coordination with the provincial Literature and Arts Association, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and relevant agencies of Binh Duong province to promote the creativity of artists, members, and collaborators in the field of fine arts to facilitate the development of artistic activities and the art movements in the Southeast region.

According to Chanh, the works reflect the good cultural values and traditions, the economic and social achievements of the homeland, the country in general, and contribute to improving the spiritual and cultural life of the people of Binh Duong province in particular in an activity to create a joyful and vibrant atmosphere to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024).

Over 300 works of 202 authors submitted to the Exhibition

The Exhibition Organizing Committee has received 303 diverse artworks in terms of content and themes, created by 202 members of the Vietnamese Fine Arts Association and members and collaborators from the provinces of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, Binh Thuan, Dak Nong, Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, Tay Ninh, and Binh Duong.

The Organizer has selected and introduced to the public 205 works by 172 authors of high value in terms of ideas and art; conveying clear and expanded social and contemporary messages, with diverse creative thinking, visual language, various styles, diverse forms of expression, and innovative experimentation in materials. Binh Duong alone has 41 works by 35 authors.

On August 5, the examiners has evaluated and selected outstanding works to award prizes. On the morning of August 6, the exhibition will officially open, serving the public for visiting the exhibition until August 16, 2024.
