To retain green accommodation
The 9th Binh Duong Youth Festival of “For a Green City” and the 5th campaign of “Reduce – Recycle – Reuse” take place in the context that Binh Duong is building a “new normal” after the 4th wave of Covid-19 epidemic outbreak. It can be said that the matter of staying safe during the epidemic also stems from small things such as keeping a clean living environment and air. Therefore, the Standing Committee of the provincial Youth’s League has decided to direct the propagation of the message of environmental protection in apartment buildings, hostels and densely populated places in the area.
Implementing the model of "Apartment to reduce plastic waste", the selected location this year is Eco Xuan apartment at Lai Thieu ward in Thuan An city. At the place, youth union members propagated the harmful effects of plastic bags and disposable plastic products, thereby encouraging people to use alternative products. In particular, the Standing Committee of the provincial Youth’s League and Thuan An Youth’s League gave trash cans to the Management Board of the apartment complex, donated 1,000 environmentally friendly cloth bags, donated trees and distributed leaflets of environmental protection propaganda and propaganda leaflets on Covid-19 prevention and control for apartment residents.

The 9th Binh Duong Youth Day "For a Green City" and the 5th campaign of "Reduce - Recycle – Reuse” of this year were held in Thuan An city and Phu Giao district. In each locality, youth union members have been deployed to carry out many meaningful projects and tasks. In Thuan An city, in addition to activities in apartments and hostels, local youth union members launched the youth project of "Change new clothes for old walls", "Youth nursery – application to cope with climate change", environmental sanitation on the roads etc.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Luat, Deputy Secretary of Thuan An Youth’s League, said: “At Binh Duong Youth Day for a Green City, we also organized for communes and wards in Thuan An city register and implement the criteria for urban civilization in 2021. Units will follow the target of 100% of the Youth grassroots of wards and towns to have at least one activity participating in building a civilized city. Thereby, in order to continue to replicate effective environmental protection models and to promote the role of green volunteer teams to protect the environment and create a widespread emulation movement to build a green - clean – pretty environment."
Meanwhile, in Phu Giao district, local youths have also been active with activities such as sorting out waste at source and implementing the model of "clean pavements and beautiful street corners", model the picture of "people's market to limit plastic waste" and distribute 1,000 environmental protection leaflets, plant 500 trees to create environmental landscapes.

Changing daily living habits, saying no to single-use plastic products, use environmentally friendly products instead of nylon bags, actively participating in environmental protection activities in the places where they live with the smallest actions such as sorting, recycling, reuse of waste, and economical use of raw materials and fuel, timely condemning acts of environmental pollution, habits of wasteful use of resources and energy are the messages that Binh Duong youths want to send through the program. Hopefully, by these meaningful messages, people's awareness of environmental protection will be increasingly enhanced and incorporated into daily life.
