The first 6 months of the year: Stable economic development, social security ensured

The 9th Provincial Party Committee Congress of the 9th tenure (extended session) made such evaluation of socio-economic development in the first 6 months of 2012 with stable growth of GDP while production of industry, agriculture, and services have made drammatical change comparing to the same period; however, at the congress, departments and sectors have pointed out drawbacks in the plans of socio-economic development, requiring great determination of the local Party Committee, authority, the people, and enterprise community to complete the targets. As reported by Deputy Secretary of local Party Committee, cum Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Le Thanh Cung informed that economic status in the first 6 months of the year was disadvantageous with increasing inflation, price of materials, and bank interest rate. By May 2012, the economy showed degrading growth while product consumption was slow and buying declined. In such circumstances, the province has timely launched groups of government’s measures to restrain inflation and stablize the economy while removing obstacles and promoting production and businesses. As a result, socio-economic development in the first 6 months of the year has seen bright perspectives.The province has organized meeting with goods industrises, enterprises, and investors to propose measures in the face of policy application helping small and medium enterprises and business establishments to overcome difficult time.Mr. Vo Van Cu, Director of Department of Industry and Trade informed that the highly prestige enteprises especially in woodwork industry had been in vain but still they could sign export agreements for the 4th quarter.Agricultural production was more stable thanks to transitional structure of the sector in term of urban agriculture and hightech agriculture with processing.Initially, the province has established and developed some models of urban agriculture and hightech agriculture to increase yields. The province has also concentrated on measures to boost up new rural area construction. Up to date, the pivotal communes have been framed with new rural plans.Addressing the conferences, Director Vo Van Cu has updated difficulties the enterprises are facing especially in terms of input material price hike as well as sluggish access to bank loans, and lack of skilled workers.For the major tasks in the last 6 months of the year, provincial People’s Committee informed that operation of enterprises should be in the spotlight to resolve loans as well as stricter monitoring of credit institutions to support small and medium enterprises.In the first 6 months of the year, activities taking care of privileged and social subjects have been very effective to stable their lief. Enterprises have offer duly policies and allowances to their workers.
