That was the affirmation of Tran Van Nam, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial National Assembly’s delegation, at the meeting with FDI enterprises in Binh Duong on 24 Sep held by PPC. Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, PPC Chairman, also participated in this conference.

Businesses are satisfied

At this meeting, the delegates had an overview of the province's socio-economic situation and foreign investment attraction in 2018 and first 9 months 2019. Leaders of FDI businesses all appreciated the investment environment in Binh Duong.

Edwin van de Sloot, CEO of ScanCom Vietnam (Di An Town), said that in recent years the company had received great support from all government levels and branches of Binh Duong. Provincial infrastructure has been improved and perfected. The company has made a large progress. That was why the company leaders decided to expand production here.

According to Nguyen Tri Thanh, CEO of ÉC - Electronics Company (100% US capital, Ben Cat Town), over 10 years in Binh Duong, the company was very satisfied with the investment environment and the support of functional agencies. Regarding infrastructure, Binh Duong has very good infrastructure compared to the surrounding areas.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Liem emphasized these above-mentioned accomplishments of Binh Duong resulted from the contributions of the people and business community, including FDI enterprises, associations, and consul general of countries. In the coming time, the province will continue to improve the investment environment, enhance competitiveness and support for businesses in the area.

In addition, the province will gather resources to perfect the socio-economic infrastructure system such as transportation, water supply, electricity, environmental treatment ...; plan for expansion of industrial parks, creating clean land fund for investors. Besides, the province will provide training for human resources, build social houses and accommodations for workers; timely supply labor resources to enterprises. The provincial government pledged to continue promoting administrative procedure reform, ensuring openness, transparency, and simplicity in order to create the most favorable conditions for businesses.

To accelerate logistics development

Mr. Sloot said that in the near future, Binh Duong should speed up the construction of river ports and railway to meet development requirements and create the most favorable conditions for business. In addition, he suggested that the province should pay attention to the application of 4.0 technologies to have a database connecting with domestic production facilities, from which enterprises are able to buy raw materials for domestic production. Then, Binh Duong industry would develop higher. He also suggested that educational institutions put modern technologies in production into teaching, especially vocational schools, so that enterprises could have high quality labor sources.

Mr. Thanh said that in the near future, Binh Duong needed to invest in river ports so that the cost of logistics services would decrease. The provincial government should pay more attention to the investment and development of accommodation for workers in industrial parks, helping workers to make long-term commitment to Binh Duong.

According to Tran Ba ​​Luan, Director of Department of Transport, the province had planned for 9 river ports, including 4 ports in operation. The system of inland ports and wharves in the province is planned and developed in accordance with the national strategy and planning and ensures the connection between roads, inland waterway and sea traffic. Besides, the dismantlement of Phu Long bridge and the enhancement of Binh Loi bridge (Ho Chi Minh City) will also open up many opportunities for waterway transport of goods in the province in the near future, as well as attract investors in this field into Binh Duong.

Regarding accommodation for workers, Vo Hoang Ngan, Director of Department of Construction, said that in recent years, the province had implemented social housing development plans. Up to now, many social housing areas have been built, concentrated in labor-intensive areas such as Thu Dau Mot City, Ben Cat Town, Bau Bang District... Especially, the province has attracted over 80 social housing development projects with a total area of ​​3.9 million m2 of floor, meeting the demand of over 240,000 people, total investment of VND 19,000 billion. Many projects have been completed and put into use with a total area of ​​over 491,000m2 of floor, meeting the demand of about 40,000 people.

In addition, the province has about 200 businesses in industrial parks and clusters investing in building accommodation for workers with a total area of ​​270,000m2 of floor, meeting the demand of 47,000 people.
