The key to boosting production and enhancing product competitiveness

The last months of 2024 saw a positive recovery in many key export industries within the province. With signs of a warming market, businesses are increasing their investments in technology and applying modern science and technology to production and business processes.

 Focus on applying new technology

Ms. Tran Thi An Nhien, Head of Administration Department of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Di An City), said that since the beginning of the year, the company has achieved a growth rate of over 5% compared to the same period in 2023. With a fairly large order, the company is recruiting 1,200 more workers, bringing the total to nearly 9,000 workers to serve production and meet signed orders. The company also invests in automation lines in production processes to create an efficient production system, helping the company save energy and optimize resources. These are important steps marking a strong change in the company's development process.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thanh Giang, General Director of Tetra Pak Vietnam, the company plans to expand its factory in Binh Duong by adding a production line that is expected to come into operation in the third quarter of 2025. To achieve new capacity, the factory will increase recruitment. The production expansion is part of the company's plan to affirm Binh Duong as a market to promote the company's strategic development in Vietnam.

Recently, many domestic enterprises have focused on enhancing their production organization, boosting productivity and efficiency, and reducing costs to strengthen their competitiveness in the market. They are also participating in production networks and engaging in regional and global value chains.

Mr. Luu Tri, the Director of Nghe Nang Industrial Company Limited in Di An City, shared some encouraging news: despite facing general challenges, the company has achieved a growth rate of 50% compared to the same period in 2023. The company is prioritizing investment in new production technologies to ensure stable growth. Additionally, it has undergone a digital transformation by implementing management software in its production processes. This change has made it more agile in sharing and capturing information from partners, customers, and suppliers of materials and finances.

Becamex IDC Corporation is currently constructing a 4.0 technology center aimed at coordinating and supporting domestic industrial enterprises within the province. This initiative seeks to enhance the technical and management capabilities of these enterprises to meet the demands of multinational corporations and foreign-invested companies. Additionally, the center will facilitate deeper participation in the global value chain and promote investment while helping domestic supporting industrial enterprises find new markets.

Join hands to overcome challenges

According to wood enterprises in the province, wood production and business are on track for a strong recovery in the last months of 2024. Many companies in the wood industry currently have export orders secured until the third quarter of 2025. However, these businesses continue to face challenges, including new technical barriers and trade defense measures imposed by key export markets such as the United States and the European Union.

To address these difficulties, Mr. Pham Van Xo, Chairman of the Binh Duong Import-Export Association, emphasized the need for support from competent branches in addition to the efforts of the enterprises themselves. He suggested that these branches should help businesses connect with multinational corporations to explore opportunities for participation in the supply chain. Furthermore, it is essential to effectively implement preferential policies and investment support in accordance with the legal provisions on industrial development and export.

Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that Binh Duong always encourages enterprises to innovate technology and participate in trade promotion to create momentum for stable development and enhance brand value. To ensure that products of domestic enterprises in the province meet international standards, Binh Duong has been implementing many training and technical support programs for enterprises. Training programs focus on improving worker skills, improving production processes and enhancing product quality. Binh Duong also encourages enterprises to apply green technology and invest in environmentally friendly products to meet the increasing demands of the international market.

One of Binh Duong's goals in the coming time is to transform the growth model, from simple processing and manufacturing to high-tech production, creating products with higher added value.
