The leader of CPV activities at the grassroots level
The Party cell secretary serves as the head of the Party Committee, playing a pivotal role as the locomotive for effective Party activities at the grassroots level. Ms. Than Thi Nguyet, the Party cell secretary of Ward 5 in Phu My Ward (Thu Dau Mot City), exemplifies this role. She consistently demonstrates dedication, exemplary conduct, and a strong sense of responsibility, working alongside the Party Committee to successfully fulfill work tasks and significantly contribute to the achievement of political objectives and the advancement of the local economy and society.
Establishing cultured communities
As an official in the cultural sector, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyet continued to engage in community work and activities after her retirement in 2017, driven by a desire to share her experience and knowledge to foster a prosperous, modern, and civilized locality. By the end of 2017, she was elected as the neighborhood chief and subsequently became the secretary of the neighborhood party cell. Despite her advanced age, Ms. Nguyet consistently demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility towards the collective leadership committee, guiding neighborhood officials and party members to effectively fulfill their political duties.
Ms. Nguyet stated that the cadres and party members within the Party cell consistently exemplify their leadership and model behavior in executing the guidelines, policies, and laws of the Party and State. Simultaneously, they take the initiative and engage actively in all local and neighborhood activities, thereby fostering trust and consensus among the community. Consequently, the emulation movements linked to the campaigns initiated by the neighborhood have garnered enthusiastic and effective participation from the residents.
In the initiative to cultivate "Urban culture and civilization," the neighborhood has established numerous exemplary models and effective practices that have yielded significant and meaningful outcomes. A prime example is the "National Flag Route" along DX-044 road and the "No Garbage Route," both of which have been implemented with commendable results. Local residents adhere to regulations, disposing of waste in a timely and appropriate manner, thereby contributing to a clean and hygienic environment. Additionally, households along the streets actively engage in regular clean-up efforts and plant flowers, fostering green, clean, and aesthetically pleasing thoroughfares. Another noteworthy initiative is the neighborhood's "Book Park," where books provided by the Provincial Library are routinely updated to meet the reading needs of the community. This space attracts students and young individuals who visit the park to unwind and read after work or school, thereby broadening their knowledge and enriching their learning experience.
Enhancing the efficacy of Party operations.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Nam, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Phu My Ward Party Committee, stated that the entire Party Committee currently comprises 18 subordinate Party cells. Recently, the Party Committee has concentrated on guiding and leading Party committees and organizations to diligently implement the conclusions, instructions, and directives from the Central Committee, the Provincial Party Committee, and the City Party Committee aimed at enhancing the quality of Party cell activities. Consequently, the content and quality of these activities have been consistently innovated to be more diverse, relevant, and aligned with the specific needs and realities of each Party cell; thus, the quality of Party cell activities has improved. This has, in turn, elevated the awareness and responsibility of Party committees, organizations, cell secretaries, and members in fortifying grassroots Party cells. Notably, the Party Cell of Ward 5, under the leadership of Ms. Than Thi Nguyet, Party cell secretary, has continually enhanced the quality of its activities, thereby strengthening the leadership capacity and effectiveness of grassroots Party organizations to meet the demands of the new context. |
The Party cell of Ward 5 currently comprises 40 active members. To effectively engage party members in activities, Ms. Nguyet and the executive committee have recently focused on consolidating and enhancing the quality of the Party cell's initiatives, thereby affirming the Party's leadership role at the grassroots level. Ms. Nguyet noted that the Party cell convenes regularly on the first Sunday of each month, during which it issues resolutions with specific, practical content directly related to enhancing the effectiveness of the ward's work and activities. Consequently, the Party cell has mobilized the entire political system and the community to collaboratively implement these initiatives. Notably, the Party cell has emphasized the "Studying and following the ideology, morality, and lifestyle of Ho Chi Minh," deploying this theme throughout the year in conjunction with practical efforts to build and develop the locality. Following each study session, every Party member completes a registration form to commit to striving for, cultivating, and practicing moral qualities and lifestyles relevant to their daily work. Additionally, the Party cell has established "Uncle Ho's Bookshelf" at the neighborhood executive board office, which houses books and documents about Uncle Ho.
Notably, Ward 5 was selected by the Phu My Ward Steering Committee to initiate the first "Morning Coffee - Exchange with the People" model for learning and following Uncle Ho, commencing in December 2022 in Phu My Ward. Consequently, every Monday morning from 6:30 to 7:30 am, ward leaders convene at the park to engage in coffee discussions with residents, exchanging ideas and listening to their perspectives. These interactions encompass a range of topics, from challenges and recommendations for addressing issues to suggestions for effective solutions. The meetings have garnered significant attendance, with participants contributing insights on various matters, including environmental concerns, security and order, and urban management. As a result, the local authorities have promptly addressed the residents' feedback, earning widespread approval from the majority of the ward's population. Given the model's success, the Phu My Ward Party Committee has implemented it throughout the ward, and subsequently, the Thu Dau Mot City Party Committee has expanded the initiative to other wards across the city for broader application.
Through her accomplishments in community engagement, Ms. Than Thi Nguyet has received numerous certificates of merit from the Party Committees and local authorities at the ward, city, and provincial levels. Most recently, in celebration of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), Ms. Nguyet was recognized as one of 95 cadres and party members honored by the Provincial Party Committee for her contributions to Party development and her successful fulfillment of responsibilities in 2024.
