The newly established map road at Thanh Hoi commune in Tan Uyen town is considered unique to bring up values of the oldest maps shown on ceramic affirming national sovereignty and an interesting location for locals and visitors.
The map road is the main route leading to Thanh Hoi commune as the realized idea of Mai Song Be – the former Director of Binh Duong Television Station cum Chairman of Dong Nai provincial Association of Journalists. On his retirement, Mai Song Be was back to Thanh Hoi – his homeland, to reside, bringing with him 40 antique maps made of ceramic which were actually displayed at his from home in the middle of 2019. The road on completion is only 500 meters long; however, its sophistication as a map road is of great attraction.
As reported, 40 maps were extracted from ‘Hoang Sa – Truong Sa, luan cu va su kien’ (Paracels and Spratly Islands – evidence and events) of researcher Dinh Kim Phuc. Each map is made of ceramic burnt at 1,250 degrees Celsius to produce sharp lines and the strongest durability. The road not only makes up appearance of the place but also bears educational values of tradition, especially the sovereignty of the nation regarding Paracels and Spratly Islands to generations.
