Focusing on accelerating the process of urbanization, over the years, the political system of Dau Tieng district has mobilized all its energies to carry out the planning and construction of urban development projects. From the beginning of 2020-2025, Dau Tieng district has retrieved about 86.5 hectares of land previously managed by Dau Tieng Rubber One Member Company Limited. Most of the newly received land fund was expected to serve the cause of urban planning, upgrading and development in the area. Specifically, from now to 2025, Dau Tieng will upgrade Thanh Tuyen and Long Hoa communes to grade 5 urban centers or towns. In the next stage, the locality strives to upgrade Dau Tieng town from a grade 5 city to a grade 4 or 3 depending on the degree of completion of the criteria achieved by the locality.

In order to meet the conditions to upgrade the whole district into a town, which is at least 50% of the localities directly under it are wards, from now to 2030, Dau Tieng also plans to upgrade Minh Hoa, Thanh An, and An Lap communes. On the basis of the achieved results, the locality continues to plan and upgrade urban areas to ward standards and create a solid premise to turn Dau Tieng into a pivotal town that local leaders have always strived for.

Mr. Tran Quang Tuyen, Standing Deputy Chairman of Dau Tieng District People's Committee, said that right from the beginning of the term, the district has synchronously and drastically implemented urban development planning projects. Urban development planning in the district is directed by the district Party Committee and the District People's Committee to deploy in a collective manner and in accordance with the planning orientation and urban development program of the province. In the planned urban development planning process, Dau Tieng strives to become a civilized, rich and beautiful city. The quality of life of the people has also improved significantly ever since.

Mr. Nguyen Phuong Linh, Chairman of Dau Tieng District People's Committee, said that the district's consistent spirit and policy is urban development in the direction of focusing on harmony among factors while ensuring inheritance, renovation and construction while preserving and promoting the good historical and cultural values of the locality. In addition to the socio-economic development goals, the district also actively develops plans to protect and preserve the environment, ensuring that the locality is under green growth and sustainable development.

In order for urban development planning to achieve good results, Mr. Linh said that in the past time the district has mobilized resources for urban development. In which resources from the budget acted as leverage and stimulus while social resources play a key role of kickstarting. Along with efforts of striving with strong internal resources, over the past time, Dau Tieng district has always tried to enlist the support of superiors to speed up the urbanization process. By the budget funds supported by the province, the district has drastically and quickly implemented key projects to motivate and breakthrough to help the local socio-economy step by step flourish, rise and develop.

Goals and solutions

Identifying urban development planning and new rural construction as two important and strategic national target programs for local development, for many years, Dau Tieng has always prioritized local development with resources gathered on implementation. Up to now, the communes in Dau Tieng area have met the new rural standard and have great promise to complete the goal of achieving the newly enhanced rural standard by the end of 2022 towards the new rural standard model before 2030.

Some localities with fast socio-economic development such as Thanh Tuyen and Long Hoa were soon included in the list of urban development planning by the district for 2020-2025. Along with the urban development planning program, this time the district also focused on upgrading and developing infrastructure for these two localities. Up to now, the infrastructure system in Thanh Tuyen and Long Hoa has basically met the travel and transportation of goods needs of the people. Some rural roads, inter-village roads, people's roads etc. would be upgraded to concrete and asphalt in the near future.

The leader of Dau Tieng district said that the remaining communes, including: Minh Tan, Dinh Hiep, Dinh An, Long Tan, Minh Thanh etc. will be promoted by the locality to invest in infrastructure construction and complete to achieve the goal of the commune reaching the model new rural standard by 2030. After completing the set goals, the district will focus on the actual situation of the localities to come up with appropriate development plans.

Talking to us, Mr. Nguyen Phuong Linh said that in order to complete the set goals, in the coming time, the district will continue to review, adjust and develop various types of planning such as land use and construction planning. The review and adjustment will be carried out by the local in an integrated direction, including regional, urban, land-use, and new rural construction planning in accordance with the planning of the province. In order to do that, the district provides training to implement action programs such as restructuring agriculture, accelerating the urbanization process, attracting industrial investment with specific groups of industries on rubber latex processing, wood processing, and livestock product processing.
