The prospects of making miracles in the new phase

On April 20, a plenary session of the scientific conference "Continuing the tradition, Binh Duong province’s journey over a quarter of a century: Achievements and prospects" took place with the participation of 750 delegates.

Presiding over the plenary session were Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial delegation of National Assembly; Associate Professor – Dr. Doan Minh Huan, Member of the Central Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Journal; Professor – Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Dr. Nguyen Hoang Thao, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Conference’s Organizing Committee; Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Conference’s Organizing Committee.

Honored guests of the plenary session consisted of Nguyen Minh Triet, former member of the Politburo, former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, former Secretary of Song Be Provincial Party Committee; leaders and some members of the Central Theoretical Council; representatives of the Central agencies; leaders and former leaders of Song Be, Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc provinces; and leaders of foreign partners that have signed cooperation programs with Binh Duong province, representatives of international organizations of which Binh Duong is a member; representatives of Overseas Vietnamese diplomatic missions and foreign diplomatic missions in Vietnam; representatives of institutes, schools, experts, scientists, researchers, leaders of departments, branches and localities in the province, leaders of associations and business associations.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Nguyen Van Loi said that this conference was of great meaning, an opportunity for the Party, government and people of Binh Duong province to express their gratitude to the previous generations, who had worked hard to build, preserve and constantly cultivate the tradition of solidarity, the dynamism, creativity of Song Be - Binh Duong people, who had overcome many difficulties and challenges to build up and constantly develop Song Be - Binh Duong during the past 47 years - since the day the South was completely liberated. Especially, 25 years since January 1st 1997, Binh Duong province was established on the basis of the separation from Song Be province.

This was also an opportunity for scientists, researchers, experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, managers at home and abroad to contribute their researches and articles with multidimensional perspectives to the review of Binh Duong's development practices over 25 years; learn valuable lessons and shape the development path of Binh Duong in the new period.

The organizers of the conference received more than 170 articles and reports of former leaders, experts, scientists, researchers, scholars, managers in many fields throughout the country. The articles are both practical and highly theoretical; cover all fields, analyze and evaluate each aspect deeply with different perspectives and emotions. Each article is a precious material that has formed the most universal picture, with a full range of colors about the development process of Binh Duong province during the past 25 years; at the same time, outline major orientations and set goals for Binh Duong to achieve in the next stage.

With the very elaborate, serious and methodical preparation, many former leaders, scientists, researchers, managers, entrepreneurs and people's classes paid attention to, devoted their wisdom to the conference. Therefore, the conference will definitely gain very good results and leave deep impressions; continue to encourage the Party, government and people of Binh Duong province to overcome difficulties and challenges, turn dangers into opportunities, to continue stabilizing the situation and successfully implement the goal of becoming a smart, modern city.

The plenary session had many presentations that summarized achievements, made proposals and suggestions on the new direction of Binh Duong, including: Binh Duong: "Model of development according to market thinking and modern logic" of Associate Professor - Dr. Tran Dinh Thien, member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Group; "Binh Duong province’s journey over a quarter of a century – An evaluation of outstanding policies and solutions" of Associate Professor - Dr. Nguyen Van Hiep, Chairman of Thu Dau Mot University Council; "Binh Duong 25 years of constructive government and accompanying businesses" by Pham Ngoc Thuan, General Director of Becamex IDC Corporation; "Binh Duong's success story: A harmonious combination of development and security" by Lieutenant General - Professor - Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yêm, Director of the Institute of Non-Traditional Security (Hanoi National University), former Director of the People's Police Academy, Ministry of Public Security; "Binh Duong viewed from the dynamics of linking regional development" by Dr. Tran Du Lich, member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Group; "Developing public service resources to meet the demand for international integration, digital transformation and implications for Binh Duong province" by Associate Professor - Dr. Vu Tuan Hung, Director of Southern Institute of Social Sciences; "Binh Duong people, from older people to modern citizens, the subject of urban culture" by Dr. Huynh Ngoc Dang, Chairman of Binh Duong Historical Science Association; "The orientation of science and technology development associated with innovation in the context of the 4th industrial revolution in Binh Duong province in the 2021-2030 period" by Associate Professor - Dr. Mai Thanh Phong, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology; "Lessons learned in the Party building, political system and key tasks in the coming time" by Associate Professor - Dr. Nguyen Quoc Dung, Director of the Institute of Politics region 2.

At the conference, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Thao highly appreciated the opinions of delegates, experts and scientists. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Thao affirmed that this was a great resource for Binh Duong to refer to and formulate important policies to enter a new path. The results obtained in the preparation process and over two days (April 19 and 20) showed that the conference completed its tasks, achieved the set goals, affirmed the separation and establishment of Binh Duong province is the right decision, demonstrates the foresight, vision and great responsibility for the rights and future of Binh Duong people, thereby opening a new era for breakthrough development in the past quarter century. It is also the foundation for Binh Duong to continue the international integration journey.
