The province supports farmers in producing and consuming agricultural products

This is an issue proposed by farmer members in the province at a dialogue with the Chairman of Provincial People's Committee last weekend. Along with supportive policies to help farmers develop production in an appropriate and stable manner; Agricultural product consumption is also an issue that needs attention to help farmers avoid falling into the following situations: Bad seasons good prices and good seasons fall prices!

This issue is no longer new but is still current. In recent days, the consumption of agricultural products, specifically oranges of farmers in North Tan Uyen district, is facing difficulties, the price of oranges has dropped quite deeply, to only 8,000 VND/kg. Therefore, Provincial Farmers' Union and North Tan Uyen District Farmers' Union called for organizations, unions, and people to support the consumption of agricultural products of farmers in the area. However, this is only a temporary solution, it cannot completely solve the problem.

In fact, this vicious cycle has long become an obsession of farmers: Farmers did not have time to enjoy a good harvest, because they are trying to sell out their crops.

The reason for this situation is due to the law of supply and demand: good crop, supply increases, leading to lower prices; poor crop, supply decreases, prices increase. Therefore, to solve this problem, it is necessary to have a macro policy, which is to reorganize production according to market needs in a sustainable way, avoiding the situation of "planting and cutting down"; industry standardization; Transparent information on export and domestic markets; How to have indicators for farmers to produce according to market signals to ensure balance between supply and demand of goods. Along with that, the linkage of production and consumption of agricultural products also needs to be calculated and reorganized to have the participation of the State, farmers, businesses, banks, scientists, distributors...

Only then will the refrain of "Bad seasons good prices and good seasons fall prices" be completely resolved.
