The provincial delegation visited and wished happy new year to officers and people on Nam Du island

On January 19, to continue the New Year visit to soldiers and people of the Southwest islands, organized by the Naval Region 5 Command, a delegation of southern provinces and cities, businesses and press agencies visited and wished happy new year to officers and people on Nam Du island.

Joining the delegation of the Naval Region 5 Command was a delegation from Binh Duong province, led by Colonel Nguyen Hoang Minh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command. On the occasion of Tet and spring, on behalf of the provincial delegation, Colonel Nguyen Hoang Minh sent warm greetings, gave gifts and wished a peaceful and happy new year to officers, soldiers and people on Nam Du island.

Nam Du archipelago belongs to Kien Hai district (Kien Giang province), including 21 large and small islands; Of which 11 islands have residents living with two commune-level administrative units: An Son commune and Nam Du commune. These two communes have more than 1,100 households, with more than 4,100 people. Together with the Party Committee, authorities, local departments, branches and organizations, the island has Radar Station 600 (Regiment 551, Naval Region 5); Border Guard Station 742 (Kien Giang Province Border Guard) and Nam Du Lighthouse Station (Ministry of Transport).
