To improve quality and design

This year, consumers tend to buy uniforms for their children early, partly to be able to freely choose and order, and partly to relax their expenses on entering the new school year. Currently on the market, ready-made school uniforms are mostly for primary and secondary school students.

Popular fabrics for making uniforms are kate, cotton fabrics and materials with a soft texture. For primary school girls, the products are usually dresses and odd dresses. Primary school boys' uniforms are trousers, shorts, and a shirt. The uniform of junior high school students is dark trousers and white shirt for both men and women. High school students' uniforms are usually white shirts and trousers.

Compared to last year, the price of ready-made uniforms increased slightly, but the quality and design of school uniforms this year have improved. Domestic brands have focused on fabric materials and sharper tailoring details. The main color of the school uniform is still dark blue, black for trousers or skirts with white long-sleeved or short-sleeved shirts. Particularly, the uniforms of female students in primary and secondary schools have more styles, such as shirts with embroidered flowers, lace, lotus leaf collars, pleated. The patterns for junior high school students are cut and sewed more simply, creating a sense of neat and personal. In trade centers and supermarkets, all kinds of ready-made uniforms are sold, but the prices are cheaper in the markets. The uniform dress costs about VND 140,000 a piece, men's shirts VND 80,000 - 120,000 piece, men's trousers about VND 150,000 a piece.

An employee of Co.opmart Binh Duong supermarket said that the trend of shopping for ready-to-wear uniforms is becoming more and more popular when the market has more and more ready-to-wear products with more and more beautiful designs, diverse types, and affordable prices. In particular, the weather is hot, so the fabric is also chosen by manufacturers to create coolness. From the beginning of July, the number of customers buying school uniforms at the supermarket has begun to increase.

Huynh Thi Hoa of Chanh My ward in Thu Dau Mot city said: "This year, my child has entered Grade 6, which is the first year of secondary school, so the purchase of clothes is carefully selected. For convenience, I choose to buy ready-made uniforms, cool fabrics, sold at reasonable prices. Shop for your children early, if they don't fit, the store will also help to correct them."

Increasing demand

In addition to ready-made school uniforms, many parents also buy fabric to order. Supermarkets and shops have imported many high-quality fabrics to meet the needs of the new school year. Fabric for a school shirt costs about VND 90,000 - 120,000. The average price of fabric pants is VND 120,000 - 130,000 not including sewing.

Currently, the consumption of fabrics for making school uniforms and ao-dai is also increasing. Uyen, the owner of a cloth stall on Ly Thuong Kiet street of Phu Cuong ward in Thu Dau Mot city said: “This year, the price of fabric items has inched up compared to the previous year. Tailored goods will fit, although the cost of fabric is quite high compared to ready-made uniforms; many parents still tend to choose to buy and sew according to their liking.”

Currently, tailors and shops selling school uniforms in the province are increasing product processing to serve market demands. Tran Thi Thanh Van, owner of Thanh Van garment factory of Chanh Nghia ward in Thu Dau Mot city said: "The business has been in business for more than 20 years and mainly processes school uniforms with a variety of designs, suitable for in accordance with customer requirements. In order to promptly serve the parents' need to buy uniforms for their children in the coming back-to-school time, the facility has to strengthen assistant workers, sewing about 20 sets of ao-dai every day for prices ranging from VND 350,000 - 500,000 a set. Every day, I welcome dozens of customers to order tailoring; the purchasing power is increasing sharply," said Van.
