Speaking at the conference, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the adjustment of the National Power Development Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050 (Power Plan VIII) closely follows the development orientations in the National Master Plan approved by the National Assembly, ensuring a solid foundation for the country in the new period. Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that the National Power Development Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, is a particularly important national sector plan in the planning system. To ensure electricity supply in the coming years to serve the target of double-digit economic growth, it is necessary to review and evaluate the ability to develop types of power sources, adjust the power source structure, especially in the period up to 2030, in which priority is given to developing power sources with quick implementation time to promptly meet load demand, especially in the Northern region.
The Deputy Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in completing the Project to adjust the Power Plan VIII with many new and superior points compared to the contents of the previous Power Plan VIII. Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son acknowledged the comments and made additions to complete the dossier in accordance with the process, especially solutions to ensure the feasibility and effectiveness of the project.
