With expectation of hundreds of thousands of tourists everywhere, Thien Hau Lady palanquin procession festival took place solemnly, lively and orderly at Thu Dau Mot town’s Phu Cuong ward on Feb. 6. In addition, Lady palanquin procession festivals at Hiep An ward and Lai Thieu ward… were organized at the same time.

Hundreds of thousands of tourists flocking to Binh Duong
Like the previous years, Thien Hau Lady palanquin procession festival at Thu Dau Mot town on the 15th of the first lunar month started at 3 p.m amid the eager expectation of thousands of tourists. Leading the festival was the national flag, Thien Hau Lady palanquin, dragon dance delegations, flower-decorated carriages and beautiful girls whilst teams of music, clarinet and drum, flute and tourists were followed.
As planned, the palanquin procession festival paraded through routes of Nguyen Du, Yersin, Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Doan Tran Nghiep, Hung Vuong, August Revolution and returned Lady Temple.
Satisfying tourists
Ly Tang Muoi,45, from HCMC’s district 3, said “HCMC also has many famous temples but my family annually visits to the Lady Temple as a habit. In this year, aside from visiting to the Lady Temple, my family also visits Lady Temple in Binh Duong New City”. Meanwhile, Le Thanh Tam, 56, from Dong Nai province, said “I and my relatives annually often join in Thien Hau Lady palanquin procession festival. I realize that order and security at the festival are maintained closely”.
Thanks to efforts from agencies
Success of the festival was thanks to concrete plans set out by the festival steering board and agencies and units’ responsibility in maintaining order, security, traffic safety, food safety and so on.
In addition, units of crime control and teams of repairing the puncture and supplying drinking water free of charge for tourists also contributed to the success.
According to the festival steering board, the festival took place solemnly and orderly.
