In recent years, alongside economic development, Binh Duong has always paid attention to building a civilized and cultured way of life. Implementing Project 02 of the provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee on "Citizen participation in building a civilized and cultured way of life in Binh Duong province, phase 2021-2025" (Project 02), localities in the province, despite having different approaches and models, all share the common goal of building a civilized, compassionate, and livable Binh Duong for all residents.

Civilized lifestyles and routines

It can be said that, after nearly 4 years of implementing Project 02, the cultural and civilized way of life is reflected in every thought, action, and daily activities of the majority of the population. Localities in the province have been and are continuing to strongly awaken the sense of responsibility and self-consciousness of each individual in the movements and activities in residential areas.

Based on Project 02 of the province, and the Project to improve the quality of the campaign "Building a cultured and civilized urban life" of the Party Committee of Thu Dau Mot City, the Party Committee of Hiep Thanh Ward has concretized the issuance of leadership resolutions, programs, and plans to implement the project in the ward's area. To create habits and distinctive living characteristics among the people, in recent times, the ward has established 7 residential clusters, each consisting of 10 adjacent households along the main roads of the ward. They clean the sidewalks and the section of road in front of their houses at a fixed time every day. In this way, the image of people cleaning the streets has contributed to preserving the surrounding landscape, making it cleaner, while also spreading the message of joining hands and contributing to maintaining a green, clean, and beautiful environment that belongs to everyone.

The selection of content and models that closely match the local situation, Hiep Thanh ward (Thu Dau Mot city) has also implemented many models that leave a strong mark with the criteria of living responsibly with the community, such as: "The rice shop of love", "Zero-VND kitchen", "Humanitarian ambulance", "Compassionate boarding house", "Motorbike taxi team for civilized urban areas" etc. In addition, implementing the criteria of the project, mobilizing households in the area to connect sewage in both phase 1 and phase 2 exceeded the city's target; public land and vacant land in the ward are regularly cleaned up by the people, implementing barriers, not causing urban aesthetics loss.

Creativity and flexibility

With the attention, involvement of the Party Committee, authorities, and the efforts, creativity of agencies, localities, units, up to now, Project 02 in the province has had many impressive changes. Beautiful images, good practices in building cultural and civilized lifestyles are increasingly present, spreading widely.

In Tan An neighborhood, Tan Dong Hiep ward (Dĩ An city), since the implementation of Project 02 until now, the neighborhood has mobilized the collective efforts of the people, resulting in positive achievements. The residential area is increasingly vibrant and elegant. In addition to mobilizing the people to contribute to the construction of roads worth hundreds of millions of dong, the neighborhood has also built a reading room to serve the needs of the people.

After being assigned by the Party Committee to build a law library, the Neighborhood Front Committee of Tan An coordinated with the Neighborhood Executive Committee to survey and select a vacant plot of land next to the hall with an area of 35m2. From this plot of land, the neighborhood mobilized soil and built an open room for reading books. The neighborhood's reading room is equipped with multiple bookshelves, with over 400 books collected from the city library and the people in the neighborhood. In addition, each association in the neighborhood has also decorated bookshelves to suit the characteristics of the association. The judicial department of the ward has also provided some books and documents related to current legal regulations for people to refer to. The neighborhood has also established a Readers Club to maintain weekly opening hours for readers.

To specify Initiative 02 into operational plans for the term and annually, as well as assign tasks and responsibilities to the heads of each sector and level, the Party Committee of My Phuoc Ward (Ben Cat City) has issued 16 implementing documents; established organizing committees, task forces to implement the plan and regularly improve the membership. To successfully achieve the targets and tasks set out in the project, the consensus and unity of the people in implementation play a crucial role. Recognizing this, the Organizing Committee of the ward project has carried out various forms of propaganda and widespread dissemination to all layers of the population.

During the implementation of Project 02, My Phuoc Ward has achieved positive results. The awareness and habits of the people in implementing the construction of civilized urban lifestyle have been significantly improved; the appearance of the city center has been upgraded, and the models have become more familiar and close to the people. Especially, the effective implementation models have been upgraded and replicated throughout the entire ward.
