With the purpose of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values and beauty in spiritual and cultural life, on November 21, Thu Dau Mot City Center for Culture, Information and Sports held an opening ceremony of the 2023 first "Học trò lễ" contest, with the theme "Praying for peace in the country and people".
"Học trò lễ" is one of the traditional cultural practices during worship festivals. In communal house worship rituals, "Học trò lễ" is the ritual that plays the most important role demonstrating the local people's moral "When drinking water, remember the source" to the gods who have protected and blessed the village since ancient times since the early days of establishing the village, pay tribute to wise predecessors, wise successors, and heroic martyrs who have contributed to protecting the homeland and country, and pray for peace in the country and people, good weather, good crops, and good life.
This year's competition attracted 14 teams from families across the city. Competing teams practice the "Học trò lễ" combined with musical instrument performances of some typical songs in worship rituals at communal houses, with two competition parts: performing the "Học trò lễ" named "Spring Ritual"; celebrate the ceremony and read the funeral orations (also known as wishes).
The contest takes place from November 21 to 23, 2023 at the national historical-cultural relic of Tan An communal house (Tan An ward).
