Part 2: Spurring progress of basic construction investment

Thu Dau Mot city People’s Committee specifies that the local administration in 2015 focuses on solving difficulties to spur progress of basic construction investment; giving priorities for key works relating to education and healthcare and more.

Synchronous implementation of works

In 2014, Thu Dau Mot city concentrated on investing strongly in education and healthcare works. As a result, 6 works were put into operation. They included Tan An primary school, Phu Hoa 3 primary school, Hoa Phu and Phu Tan medical stations and more with the total value of VND852.8bil, winning 99.87% of yearly plan.

Besides, the city People’s Committee agreed on investment of Prince Town, Rich Town, Sunflower 2, Prince Town II trade housing areas; cooperated with Thu Dau Mot Electricity to improve electrical grid system and more.

In addition, the municipal administration upgraded green tree system at streets such as Pham Ngu Lao, Bui Quoc Khanh, Vo Minh Duc, Doan Thi Lien and so on.

Tran Thuy Danh, head of Genimex resettlement area in Phu Loi ward, Thu Dau Mot city said “Thanks to instruction of planning, residential allocation, the city reaches a new height. Local residents’ life becomes more comfortable, thanks to stable jobs”.

Eyeing the 1^st class urban criteria

In 2015, Thu Dau Mot city targets important goals of focusing on building and developing Thu Dau Mot city on the 1^st class urban criteria by concrete results. Specifically, the local administration will strive to increase average income of VND80mil per capita per year; economic growth at 26.7%; economic structure of service-industry-agriculture of 60.88%, 39.03%, 0.09% and more.

As for socio-culture field, Thu Dau Mot city determines to reach 100% of medical stations having doctors, 100% of wards reaching the national standards of healthcare and traditional medicine, 99.9% of rate of clean and electric using households, 100% of agencies winning cultural standards, over 96% of cultural families, more than 85.6% of cultural areas and among others. The city administration in cooperation with departments, agencies rejuvenates working headquarters and launches movement of urban civilized lifestyle.

Sustainable development

Thu Dau Mot city has encouraged and facilitated economic sectors to invest in service industry, spur developing speed and scope of trade-service sector in conformity with requirement of economic structure transfer. The city will also continue to effectively implementing supportive and investment policies and simultaneously solving difficulties for enterprises timely and more.

Moreover, the municipal administration will strengthen promulgation and training on guiding farmers to apply tech-science achievements into production, focus on developing models of urban and eco-agricultural production.

As for environmental field, functional agencies and wards of the city will accelerate dissemination to raise local residents’ awareness on environmental protection and more.

Thu Dau Mot city will also promote maximum advantages of provincial-level central urban area and Southern key economic zone.

Lam Phi Hung, vice chairman of Thu Dau Mot city People’s Committee affirmed that with available system of education and training, the city has enough capacity to offer hi-quality manpower for not only private workshops but organizations and enterprises on the large scale.
