Thuan An City stimulates economic development right from the beginning of the year

To successfully complete the goals and tasks of the 2024 socio-economic development plan, Thuan An City People's Committee proposed five main groups of tasks and solutions, creating momentum for successful implementation of the goals, set targets for the entire period 2021-2025.

 Main goals

In 2023, Thuan An City carried out the task of socio-economic development amidst many difficulties and challenges, but with the spirit of solidarity and unity, the entire Party, government, business community and people in Thuan An City made great efforts to overcome difficulties and gained many important results. Accordingly, the city achieved 16/19 set targets; Social security was guaranteed, political security, social order and safety were stable. In particular, the main indicators of industrial development, trade and services increased over the same period. Specifically, industrial production value reached 270,520 billion VND, an increase of 5.36% over the same period and reached 89.33% of the City People's Council Resolution. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue were estimated at 111,650 billion VND, up 20.2% over the same period, reaching 87.82% compared to the People's Council Resolution.

Nguyen Thanh Tam, Chairman of Thuan An City People's Committee, said that by utilizing advantages and actively overcoming difficulties, in 2023, Thuan An City's socio-economy continued to stabilize, develop, and achieved many important results in many fields. This is a solid premise for Thuan An City to continue to successfully carry out important tasks of the whole tenure.

2024 is the fourth year of the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021-2025, an important and decisive year in successfully implementing the goals and targets set for the whole period. The City People's Committee has identified 18 main targets in 2024 to develop plans and strive to complete. Besides, there are the effective implementation of the Provincial Party Committee's programs on implementing Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW of the Politburo on socio-economic development and ensuring regional defense and security in Southeast region to 2030, vision to 2045; implementation of Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW of the 5th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee on continuing to innovate, develop and improve collective economic efficiency in the new period (up to 2030, vision to 2045).

Accordingly, the city focuses on implementing solutions to strongly develop growth drivers based on endogenous capacity and digital transformation towards improving productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness of the economy, continues to promote economic restructuring by increasing the proportion of the service industry; Strengthen the attraction of investment from the whole society, public - private cooperation to develop infrastructure, urban areas - services as a premise to develop Thuan An City sustainably and become a civilized and modern urban area; Focus on ensuring social security, sustainable poverty reduction, improving the material and spiritual life of the people, paying attention to comprehensive and synchronous development of culture, education, health and society to be on par with economic development.

Comprehensive development solution

To complete the goals, targets, and tasks of socio-economic development in 2024, Tam said that industry continues to be the key economic sector and plays a role in promoting the development of other sectors of the economy, creating motivation for urban, service and trade development. At the same time, the city effectively implements Program No. 111-CTr/TU of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee, continues to promote industrialization and modernization of the country until 2030, with a vision to 2045; Implements selective investment policies in terms of scale, technology, industry, develop and implement industrial promotion plans.

In the field of trade and services, the city continues to implement commercial civilization and the program to stabilize the commodity market; Encourage economic sectors to focus on developing advantageous service industries with high knowledge and technology content and increased value on the basis of modern industry and digital technology; Effectively implement programs and projects on domestic market development... In addition, the city continues to invest in upgrading and developing socio-economic infrastructure, prioritizing appropriate resources for areas such as: traffic, urban beautification, education, public health...; handle difficulties and problems in resettlement arrangements, compensation, and site clearance; Carry out investment preparation work well to accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital from the beginning of 2024, resolutely eliminate unnecessary and ineffective projects.

With appropriate solutions, consensus and high determination of the Party Committee, government and people, Thuan An City is expected to successfully implement the goals and tasks of 2024 and the entire term.
