City inner roads have been rectified to become cleaner, greener and more eye-catching

Paying-back results

Since the beginning of the year, Thuan An city has continued to invest in sidewalk renovations on Thu Khoa Huan Road (from My Phuoc – Tan Van Street to Bình Chuan Intersection); renovated the drainage system to prevent flooding on Nguyen Van Tiet Street; and addressed subsidence on the Pho Long Bridge approach road. Furthermore, the city has invested in water supply pipelines along all 47 roads managed by the city; and invested in water supply pipelines along 319 out of 583 roads managed by communes and wards, achieving a completion rate of 54.71%. The rate of households with access to clean water in the city has reached 100%. Moreover, the lighting system along the roads is regularly inspected and maintained by city authorities, who oversee the operation of urban lighting and repair of urban lighting systems. To date, the illumination rate of main urban streets within the city has attained 100%; the illumination rate of alleys has reached 85%.

To effectively cater to recreational needs, the city has invested in flower gardens and parks across various wards. Currently, the city has completed construction on five parks and flower gardens in the wards of Lai Thieu, An Phu, Binh Nham, Binh Hoa, and Thuan Giao, totaling 40,340m². The city is preparing to invest in a Saigon River riverside park encompassing 1 ha. Concurrently, the city prioritizes waste collection and environmental sanitation efforts.

Accordingly, the city has promulgated regulations for managing solid domestic waste within its jurisdiction; concurrently, it has organized communication campaigns, advocacy efforts, and provided guidance to residents on implementing the waste-at-source separation program within Lai Thieu ward.

The city has attracted numerous urban development investment projects, notably high-rise, multifunctional complex projects along Binh Duong Boulevard and provincial Road 743B. These projects have transformed the city's architectural landscape and are driving the attraction of further large-scale investments. Concurrently, with meticulous investment in the city's technical infrastructure, the urban space is systematically planned in accordance with urban and industrial development corridors along National Highway 13, provincial Road 743, My Phuoc - Tan Van Road, and the service and tourism corridor bordering the Saigon River; the transportation infrastructure is being synchronously developed, ensuring seamless connectivity with the regional transportation network, thereby facilitating the advancement of Thuan An city into a new era of progress.

In recent times, Bình Dương province in general, and Thuan An city in particular, have dedicated significant attention to the development of urban technical infrastructure. Accordingly, the province has invested in new construction and upgrades to main arterial roads traversing Thuan An city, such as Binh Duong Highway, Vanh Dai 3, and provincial Road 743B. Numerous infrastructure projects have been completed and commissioned, notably the investment in upgrading and expanding provincial Road 743B from the intersection at Ong Cu Temple to the Song Than Overpass, contributing to a reduction in traffic congestion. Concurrently, the city has invested in renovating and upgrading many routes, specifically, the completed and commissioned upgrade and expansion project of Thuan Giao 25 Road; and the ongoing upgrade of Nguyen Chi Thanh Road.

The city also prioritizes collaboration on several surface drainage projects, such as the Chom Sao Doi Dan stream drainage axis project, the Thuan Giao - Binh Nham (T3) canal and box culvert project, and the Ba Bo canal project. Currently, the city has completed investment in the VSIP canal expansion project and the culvert crossing provincial Road 743C at the Ong Bo bridge intersection. Thuan An wastewater treatment plant with an area of 6.6 hectares, phase 1 scale of 17,000m3/day and night has also been put into operation. Up to now, the rate of connection to collected domestic wastewater in the city has gained 32%. Regarding the power supply, water supply, and telecommunications systems, relevant agencies and units have coordinated with the locality to renovate and build new ones to meet the supply needs of the people.

Synchronous meaures

In addition to the achieved results, the renovation, embellishment and urban development of Thuan An still have limitations and difficulties. According to the city's functional agencies, the planning and management of urban development have not kept up with the speed of urbanization.

In addition, the infrastructure system has not been invested in and built completely, in which the works serving the people, cultural and public institutions have not been invested in proportion to the scale of urban development of the city. In order to ensure the urban renovation and development according to the set plan, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuan An city, said that in the coming time, the city will continue to renovate and embellish the sidewalks of urban traffic routes in combination with planting trees on the roads; increase the lighting ratio of urban streets and alleys, gradually replace them with energy-saving LED lights and solar lights; focus on renovating and embellishing the technical infrastructure of spontaneous housing areas.

The city will coordinate with relevant units to gradually bury the power and communication systems underground to create an increasingly beautiful urban landscape; at the same time, effectively renovate and handle local flooding; treat and classify domestic waste at the source and households before it is taken away for treatment; increase the rate of domestic wastewater connection to the general urban wastewater treatment system. The city also prioritizes investment in upgrading and expanding urban roads according to the planning, especially the roads connecting the East - West of the city, the roads connecting the city with neighboring localities; invest in building parks and flower gardens according to the planning and on public land, surplus land after clearance to increase the urban green area, improve the living environment and serve the entertainment needs of the people; attract investment in building housing projects, especially social housing projects, workers' housing, resettlement housing to serve the housing needs of the people.
