Thuan An’s CEP presents Tet gifts to the poor

Early January 10, Thuan An town’s Capital Aid Fund for Employment of the Poor (CEP) held a ceremony to present Tet gifts to poor households and members in Hung Dinh commune.

Along with providing job creation credit for members, the town’s CEP over the past years got involved in such social charity activities as upgrading houses, awarding scholarships to poor pupils, offering help to sick members…On this occasion, 13 poor households in Hung Dinh commune were presented gifts worth VND200,000 each. 45 needy households being members of CEP also received gifts worth VND5mln.

On the upcoming traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, CEP will present Tet gifts, including rice, cooking oil and other essential commodities, to more than 188,000 members with a total expense of more than VND10.5bln. In Thuan An town, CEP will give 2,771 gifts valued at more than VND149mln for members.

In addition to the communes, wards of An Thanh, Thuan Giao, Hung Dinh and Binh Nham given Tet gifts, from now till January 17, 2014, CEP will organize ceremonies to present Tet gifts to poor households in other communes and wards in the town, helping them enjoy a happy Tet.
