Update: 03-08-2011 | 00:00:00

Despite the common difficulties of the national economy, Thuan An town’s industrial-handicraft production has still maintained stable growth…

Impressive figures

Thuan An town’s industrial production value was estimated at more than VND21.4trillion as of late June, 2011, up 17.9% compared to last year’s same period. Pottery industry is still maintained and developed in Binh Duong

Of the total figure, State-run businesses reached VND399bln, up 15.8%; non-State businesses achieved more than VND5.9trillion, up 18.2%; foreign-invested businesses secured more than VND15.07trillion, up 17.8%.

The town’s industrial production value saw growth in all industries of woodwork, plastics, footwear, garment, food-beverage, supportive services…But, some industries of chemicals, pottery, building material…witnessed reduction in production value and output

With its fast urbanization speed, Thuan An town has so far absorbed many new businesses and those who have expanded production, improved technologies and increased their competitiveness with others in the region.

Town-based businesses have adapted themselves to market mechanism, been very flexible in production-trading, upgraded necessary information and had many partners at home and abroad.

Advantages and challenges

Thuan An town’s fruits in industrial-handicraft production have came from the integral efforts of the local authorities and businesses. There has been diversification of capital mobilization. Town-based businesses have made efforts to get access to capital sources for their production and trading activities.

At macroscopic level, the above results have been attributed by the Government’s timely measures in curbing inflation, stabilizing the marco economy, stimulating consumption, strengthening control over commodities to stabilize product quality and prices…

However, Thuan An town’s industrial-handicraft production has faced a lot of difficulties and challenges, including inflation rate at high level, strong fluctuation on market prices, unstable power supply…

With the integral efforts of the local authorities and businesses, Thuan An’s industrial-handicraft production has still maintained stable growth in the current difficult period of the economy, so this is needed to be acknowledged and encouraged.
