Thuan An youth uphold heroism, pioneering, solidarity, creativeness

In 2 days (1^st and 2^nd Aug), Thuan An Town Youth Union convened the 11th Congress, 2017-2022 tenure. This was an occasion for Thuan An youth to evaluate implementation results of the last resolution and set out direction and tasks in the new tenure.

During the 2012-2017 tenure, education for the youth through revolutionary movements of Thuan An Town Youth Union continued to be a practical and effective way to make a good change. The most prominent movement was "Pioneering to participate in socio-economic development and international integration" promoted by local youth through the development of economic models, credit programs supporting business production.

School youth unions deployed good teaching and learning movement, knowledge contests to 100% union branches. Young workers’ group carried out this movement through projects integrated with their production tasks and the "4 most" movement. Armed forces’ Youth Union effectively implemented the movement "Army youth strive to train good virtue, competence, creative pioneering, deserve to be soldiers of Uncle Ho", "Young people’s police learn and implement 6 Uncle Ho teachings". Agencies’ bloc Youth Union implemented administrative procedure reform combines with the "3 responsibilities" movement through models, such as document management software, online tax filing, OSS activities. Residential areas’ Youth Union pioneered launch the movement "The youth participate in urban civilization building", ensuring traffic order and safety, new rural construction, projects integrated with political tasks of each locality...

Each community-based voluntary movement were crowded with youth union members, such as "Voluntary Saturday", "Green Sunday", Voluntary summer campaign, Voluntary spring campaign, voluntary blood donation, pink holiday, green operation, volunteer for community health etc. Gratitude activities were diversely organized and brought high social effect. A prominent feature in youth movement of Thuan An youth was activities in response to the campaign "For borders, islands”. Accordingly, the town Youth Union organizes annual visits to border guard units, navy troops, border areas and islands. Thereby, they made supports for officers, soldiers and people in border areas and islands.

Besides, the work of gathering young workers continued to have many innovations in content and method. Youth branches and organizations developed branches, teams, groups at all levels by industry, interests; carried out many activities to take care of young workers, such as "New Year's meal", "Young workers’ singing contest", football championship, Chol Chnam Thmay Festival, Ok Om Bok Festival and most recently "Young workers’ street" attracted a large number of young workers in lodging houses and industrial zones; thereby, encouraged young ones to join Youth organizations. Implementing the project "Uniting, gathering young workers in Binh Duong period 2011-2015 and period 2016-2020”, in Thuan An 199 youth associations were established with more than 8,000 members; 15 youth branches were established with 867 members; and 1 gathering and meeting center for migrant youth members.

Youth organizations and associations in the area also established, maintained and improved clubs to help backward youth, such as "Belief group", crime prevention club, youth anti-hiv/aids club, youth clubs for HIV/AIDS prevention propaganda in communes, wards and high schools, "lighting for trust" club and "for the future" club.; thereby, to help young people to reintegrate into the community.

Huynh Thi Thu Thuy, Secretary of Thuan An Town Youth Union, said: "With new slogan,"Thuan An youth promotes the tradition of heroism, pioneering, unity and creativeness for civilized urban construction”, Thuan An Town Youth Union continues to enhance achieved results and effectively implement the goal of "Building a youth class having patriotism, good revolutionary virtues, high sense of law observance, good knowledge, health, skills, sense of responsibility, integration and cultural characteristics of Vietnamese people; improve the quality of Youth Union's organization, strengthen revolutionary ideals and encourage the youth to build great aspirations; enhance emulation and voluntary movements, participate in socio-economic development and national defense...”
