Tien Minh makes it to quarterfinals

 Vietnam’s badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh has qualified for the quarterfinals of the BWF World Badminton Championship after thrashing Thai rival Boonsak Ponsana at 21-11 and 21-15. 

This was Minh’s second victory over the Southeast Asian rival in their three confrontations.

Minh performed quite well in the match against Ponsana. In the first set, the Vietnamese player scored 11 points in a row.

Minh is scheduled to meet Denmark’s world third seed Peter Hoeg Gade in the quarterfinals.

Other leading players in this round include Lee Chong Wei, Lin Dan, Jin Chen, and Juliane Schenk.
