In the semi-final, the Vietnamese player will meet Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk from Thailand, who is seeded No. 15 in the competition.
The five-day tournament, which also includes men's and women's doubles and mixed doubles events, has prizes worth a total of US$200,000 and will last through September 11.
