Timber industry aims at the domestic market

On Jan 27, Timber Association of southern provinces (BIFA, HAWA and DOWOOHA) held timber ancestor’s death anniversary ceremony. Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Chairman of PPC, attended the meeting.

In 2015, timber and handicrafts industry achieved impressive results, timber and wood product exports reached nearly $7 billion; handicraft product  (bamboo, rattan, rush) exports reached nearly $260 million; ceramic product exports over $150 million. In 2016, the timber and handicrafts industry aims at an overall growth of 8-10%, when TPP trade agreements will take effect.
