Update: 25-11-2021 | 11:49:18

The Covid-19 outbreak in the province continues to be well controlled, Binh Duong Department of Industry and Trade is actively implementing solutions to stabilize the market, guarantee the supply of goods to serve the increasing demand of people at the end of the year.

To stabilize commercial activities

From beginning of the second quarter of 2021, the outbreak of the Covid-19 has affected production and business activities of enterprises, especially the commercial sector, making the total retail sales of goods and service revenue of the province grow poorly in the latest months. Over ten months of 2021, the province's total retail sales of goods and services reached VND 210,243 billion, up 1.7% over the same period of 2020.

In order to stimulate the development of the commercial sector in the new situation, Department of Industry and Trade has coordinated with municipal People's Committees to implement many solutions to stabilize commercial activities. Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said that in order to gradually resume commercial activities, the department has carried out some solutions to guarantee operational safety, restore distribution system of goods and services after a period of strict social distancing. Up to now, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities have basically completed the appraisal of plans for 17 conventional markets to reopen.

In addition, Department of Industry and Trade continued to implement Plan No. 103 of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control to ensure circulation and supply of essential goods, stabilizing the market in districts, towns and cities in the province. As a result, the demand of distribution system during the pandemic peak time as well as at present has been satisfied. In order to maintain operations, especially from now until the end of the year, businesses need to strictly comply with disease prevention and control measures to ensure the safety of workers and customers buying goods in the distribution system of essential goods in the province. At present, most business establishments in the distribution system apply QR code scanning for their customers through Bluzone/PC-Covid-19 mobile apps…

Due to the high demand in the last months of the year, businesses on the one hand maintain a late sales time, increase delivery staff, cashiers to maximally satisfy customer's demand. The stockpile at warehouses of businesses is three times higher than in previous months, provides enough for Binh Duong market at least within the next three months. Besides, commercial businesses have developed e-commerce applications, innovative online sales, and promptly met the increasing demand for online shopping of consumers while the disease is still complicated.

To heighten supply capacity

From mid-September, the transport of goods of Binh Duong market has been restored quickly; food items and necessities are being urgently stockpiled by retailers. Pham Huu Chi, Director of Big C Di An Supermarket, said that in order to prepare for the peak shopping season at year-end, the supermarket is carrying out plan to prepare goods and adequate and timely supply options.

According to Chi, the domestic commodity market would continue to be affected by fluctuations of the world market; price of commodities such as fuel and energy would continue to stand at a high level, affecting the other consumer goods. Moreover, now at the year-end time, the market will be more eventful, the demand for goods will increase at the end of the year and on Lunar New Year. "To guarantee the supply of goods in any circumstances, we set up supply options, including back-up plans if the Covid-19 has new developments", Chi said.

Information from retail businesses such as Lotte Mart, Co.opmart, MM Mega Market, said that businesses actively developed plans to supply goods, have experience to respond better to any disease developments. In addition, market stabilization programs have been implemented under the direction of the authority, thus the market for essential goods would have little abnormal fluctuations.
