The Ministry of Industry and Trade has organized the recognition and certification of 173 typical national-level rural industrial products in 2023, including 7 products from Binh Duong. These are outstanding products representing major industrial production groups with local, regional and national advantages; has good quality, beautiful appearances; has strengths and potential to develop and expand production, meeting the needs and tastes of domestic and foreign customers.

Long-term strategy

According to opinions of the business community, it is expected that typical rural industrial products would receive incentives from industrial promotion programs for production development and market expansion. Tran Thanh Trong, Chairman of Provincial Electromechanical Association: “We hope that through industrial promotion policies, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and local governments will provide stronger support for businesses to create high quality products. In addition, the State needs to have a specific support package on credit interest rates, because interest rates are currently too high, profits of businesses are small, and rural industrial enterprises that are small in scale and weak in potential will be very difficult to borrow bank loans to invest in production expansion."

In fact, rural industrial production facilities and enterprises have mostly small or micro-scale with limited resources. To support this group’s development, it is necessary to have a medium and long-term, unified strategy for industrial promotion to nurture small businesses into medium and large enterprises. This has provided opportunities for developing countries like Vietnam to accelerate the development and application of science and technology to industrialize the country and catch up with developed countries. In 2024, the industry and trade branch determines that one of the key solutions is to continue the implementation of tasks and solutions to support businesses in developing production and business based on science technology, innovation and digital transformation. Accordingly, this branch will "promote the implementation of tasks and solutions to restructure the industry and trade sector based on the foundation of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation", Toan emphasized.

For enterprises in wood processing industry, it is necessary to support enterprises to intensify the application of advanced technical solutions, optimize technological criteria, and advanced consumption norms built according to reasonable models to reduce production costs at a reasonable level and ensure production and business efficiency; synchronously apply technical and management solutions to economically use resources for green, environmentally friendly development.

With the mechanical engineering industry, the industry and trade branch coordinates with ministries and branches to submit plans to competent authorities to promulgate new policies focusing on support to quickly promote large projects in the mechanical industry, including preferential policies. special investment according to the provisions of the Investment Law to form large projects, increase the rate of localization, transfer and mastery of design and manufacturing technology; develop supporting industries and promote the formation of sustainable supply chains.

For the food sector, businesses need to closely link state management of food safety with the management of goods circulating in the market, stabilize the market, balance supply and demand, and improve productivity, quality and efficiency of production and business.

The industry and trade branch promotes the implementation of strategies for developing science, technology and innovation in the industry and trade sector for the period 2021-2030; Key science and technology programs and projects at national and provincial levels have been approved, focusing on organizing and implementing projects to support businesses in applying 4.0 technology through digital transformation to develop smart production until 2030.
