“Happy Lunar New Year. Do “5K” message. Always take precautions. Fighting COVID-19. Binh Duong is a heartwarming land…”. Those are the messages in cultural art programs to serve workers who cannot return to their hometown on Tet holiday 2022 in the province.

Diverse programs to serve workers away from home

In order to bring a joyful atmosphere of Lunar New Year 2022 to residential areas in the province, the Provincial Arts and Culture Center organized a four-night concert tour in four quarters of An Binh ward (Di An city). With the elaborate and unique staging, the program spread the breath of spring to everyone with songs “Chào ngày mới” (Hello new day), “Thành phố ước mơ” (Dream city), “Bình Dương khúc xuân ngời” (Binh Duong spring song), “Lắng nghe mùa xuân về” (Listen to Spring coming), “Đón mùa xuân về” (Welcoming spring), "Happy new year"…

In addition to the Provincial Arts and Culture Center, Di An City Center for Culture, Information and Sports is going on a twelve-night tour to celebrate the Party and Spring 2022 to serve workers who cannot return to their hometown on Te holiday. At this program, local audiences and workers had an opportunity to enjoy many interesting and meaningful performances. The program include musical performances praising a joyful spring, such as: Welcoming the Motherland New Year, Lunar New Year, Early Spring, Spring With You, Wishing Spring Fortune etc. performed by mass cultural artistic team of the city Center for Culture, Information and Sports. Besides, there were magic circus performances by magician Cao Phi, comedy skit “Mơ làm ca sĩ” (Dream to be a singer) performed by Tien Cuong and Tu Quy, and exciting young music songs by singers from Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Quach Dinh Son, head of the mass cultural artistic team of the city Center for Culture, Information and Sports, this is an annual activity to create a joyful atmosphere among the people on new year 2022 in order to encouraging people actively participate in production and creative labor, enhance the propaganda of patriotism and national pride.

Spreading compassion

Cultural art program “Mùa xuân dâng Đảng” (Spring to the Party) held by the Provincial Arts and Culture Center at Binh Duong 1 market (An Binh ward, Di An city) showed the attention and compassion of all administration levels to workers away from home. The market that day was quite bustling with a revival atmosphere after a long time of social distancing for Covid-19 prevention control. Most buyers and sellers at the market were people from other provinces and cities, who have come to Binh Duong to find stable jobs and had went through the difficult pandemic time lately. Therefore, the market atmosphere on these days is vibrant, but everyone does not forget to wear face masks and well implement the "5K" message.

When spotlights and music pop up at the Office in Quarter 1, people at both the market and lodging houses around were excited by the familiar feeling every time Tet is coming. Nguyen Thi Ly (from Thanh Hoa province), who is working for a wood company, said that due to being affected by the epidemic for two consecutive years, her income has decreased much. She sent all her Tet bonus to family in Thanh Hoa. Therefore, when there is a cultural program from the province with many interesting and meaningful performances, she feels less homesick and happy when the "new normal" has returned.

The program consisted of two parts: Part one about impression of Binh Duong over 25 years of development with special performances praising the Party and Uncle Ho, praising Binh Duong's achievements over 25 years of construction and development. Part two is a modern music show themed “Quê hương - Tình yêu và tuổi trẻ” (Homeland - Love and youth). Besides, there were funny stories of characters in the skit “Người tốt bụng” (The Good Man) directed by Trung Hau.

The stories of characters in the skit were really meaningful, realistically demonstrated the life and humanity at lodging houses in Binh Duong. Phuc's character in the skit is one of many kind lodging house's owners in real life. With sympathy, a wish for everyone live happily, Phuc reminded everyone to get vaccinated against Covid-19 and protect common hygiene. He also personally picked up each bag of garbage, reduced the rent, collaborated actively with local youth union members to provide necessities for people... Through stories of the characters, the skit also brought the atmosphere of spring to audiences, along with information about the pandemic situation and attractive activities to support workers away from home of Labor Confederation, Trade Unions in Binh Duong.
