Taking care of policy beneficiaries and poor people is one important task that receive special attention of leaders of Thuan An city and have been implemented by authorities, departments, and unions. In order for all people to welcome a happy and warm traditional Tet festival, this task has been focused and realized through many meaningful activities taking place all over the area.

Many activities to celebrate the Party - to celebrate the spring

Celebrating the Party - celebrating Lunar New Year 2021, on January 24, Women's Union, Red Cross and Youth Union of Lai Thieu ward co-organized a get-together of union members, young workers, and Traffic Safety Day 2021. The program had many activities of giving gifts, awarding scholarships, and contests, folk games. This was one of activities to take care of material and spiritual life of union members and young workers having difficult circumstances in the ward.

In this program, grassroots Youth Union of Provincial Police Department presented 40 gifts to children of workers having difficult circumstances in the ward. The ward Youth Union also presented 2 saving books and 9 scholarships, 40 gifts to students who had excellent and good learning results, and to children of young workers having difficult circumstances. These activities not only supported and shared difficulties with poor union members but also contributed to bring a warm and joyful traditional Tet atmosphere to everyone.

Along with Lai Thieu, many other localities of Thuan An City also had practical activities to care for vulnerable people on occasion of Lunar New Year. Nguyen Thi Hien, Vice Chairwoman of the city People's Committee, said in order to prepare well for the 91st anniversary of Communist Party of Vietnam and welcome Lunar New Year 2021, the City People's Committee developed plans and directed branches, unions, People's Committees of communes and wards to focus on caring for policy beneficiaries, vulnerable people, and workers. In addition to material support activities, in order to create a joyful, animated atmosphere and serve recreation need of local people, during this Tet holiday, People's Committee Thuan An City also directed the culture and information branches to cooperate with relevant branches and localities to decorate roundabouts, welcome gates, and streets in the city.

According to the plan, the time before, during and after Tet holiday, there will be many cultural, artistic, and sport activities to serve people in the city. The City People's Committee also directed communes and wards to hold decoration contest of welcome gates and green - clean - beautiful neighborhoods to celebrate the Party - celebrate the Spring combined with the criteria of building urban civilization lifestyle. In addition, the control of goods prices; guarantee of food safety and hygiene, social security and order before, during and after Tet are also conducted to ensure that all people are happy both materially and spiritually.

All people have a happy Tet

In order to take care of and help disadvantaged people celebrate Lunar New Year 2021, the City People's Committee reviewed all policy subjects in the area to make plan for timely care and pay allowances before Lunar New Year. Ms. Nguyen said that during this Tet holiday, the Central budget spent on allowance payment to 2,149 disadvantaged people with a total expense of over VND 650 million; the province's budget supported 3,076 people with a total amount of over VND 4.7 billion, and the city supported VND 105 million to visit and give gifts to 35 policy people. In terms of vulnerable people, during this Lunar New Year, Thuan An City spent more than VND 5.6 billion on taking care of 7,479 people. In addition, Provincial Children's Sponsoring Fund also supported 500 gifts for disadvantaged children in the city with a total expense of VND 270 million; Gratitude Fund of the city supported 50 policy families having sickness and difficult circumstances VND 50 million.

In recent days, activities to care for policy people, poor people on occasion of Tet festival in Thuan An City have taken place meaningfully and warmly. Many gifts filled with love have been given to policy families and disadvantaged people. Ms. Nguyen said that caring for disadvantaged people is a task concerning and implemented regularly by the city government. To uphold the tradition of national unity, promoting the spirit of mutual affection, all levels, branches and localities in the city have mobilized resources to contribute to and work together with the Party and the State to take care of, share difficulties with disadvantaged people so that they can welcome the traditional Lunar New Year more joyfully.

"The gifts will bring spring warmth to needy people, contributing to spreading love among the community. With the sympathy and sharing of the whole society, hopefully this spring, disadvantaged families in the city could welcome a peaceful, warm and meaningful Lunar New Year", said Ms. Nguyen.
