To construct and expand the models, affirmed permanent Deputy President of Provincial Farmer Association

On May 12, at the summing up meeting for 5 years of patriotism emulation movements and appraisal of elite farmers from 2010 to 2015 with participation of over 300 officials and members. On the occasion, Binh Duong Newspaper reporter interviewed Mr. Lam Van Hoa, permanent Deputy President of Provincial Farmer Association on the achievements, construction measures and expansion of models to promote the patriotism emulation movements effectively for the time to come.

Reporter: Sir, please get us informed of what duties and measures had been implemented for the success of the patriotism emulation movement?

Mr. Lam Van Hoa: Implementing the decision and policies of the Party in the stage of industrialization and modernization promotion, for the past time, the associaion has concentrated on improving awareness of farmers of such decision and policies in terms of agriculture, farmer and rural issues, Conclusion No. 61 of Secretariat on improvement of farmer associaions in Vietnam in the stage of new rural area construction, and Decision No. 673 of PM on direct participation of farmer associations in practical programs. We can assumed that all-level associations have played good roles of connecting the Party with the public.

Besides, we have made consultancy and supervision to ensure transition of agricultural economic structure within the development of urban agricultural models and high-tech agricultural models conformed with local planning. The Association also promoted coordinated programs with related departments and sectors for the best benefits of the farmers. Particularly, we have coordinated with Department of Science and Technology, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to help farmers implement high-tech production and husbandry models, be along side with Department of Industry and Trade to improve projects of environment protection and husbandry. Accordingly, we have gathered all forces, particularly, the farmers to build up more and more sustainable association while improving the association position and successful socio-economic targets of the province.

Reporter: In 5 years, the Farmer Association has been successful in farmer supporting programs and projects. Sir, please inform of the upcoming pivotal programs to ensure sustainable rural development and farmer prosperity?

Mr. Lam Van Hoa: We have carried out the major tasks of being supporting the famers in terms of guiding and calling upon them to transform the planting and husbandry structure to develop household businesses, plantations, and collectives so that the poor can overcome their hardship through working. From 2013, we have consulted with the province to carry out projects of operation effectiveness of Farmer Supporting Fund and information technology application.

Currently, we are ready for implementation of our planned projects. The remaining issues would be operation capital. We will cooperate with banks and credit organizations to offer trade and preferential funding of the State to the farmers.

Reporter: What measures should be made for the successful patriotism emulation movements for the time to come, sir?

Mr. Lam Van Hoa: The measures will be construction and expansion of models while improving bonuses and awards. Particularly, we will initiate movements of “learning and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples”, “people’s grand unity in cultural life construction” amongst other movements of poverty reduction, modern lifestyle, and national defense and security.

We will offer more bonuses and awards  to encourage the movements.
