To improve the business investment environment, create favorable conditions for enterprises to develop is one of the key tasks that Binh Duong has carried out over years. Especially, in the current period, when businesses are still experiencing great difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the support and companion of the province, departments, branches and localities is a foundation that encourages businesses to make commitments and develop.

Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of the National Assembly, receives a visit of Preben Elnef, Vice Chairman of Lego Group (Denmark) to exchange investment information of the group in Binh Duong.

To accompany businesses

Within the last one month, Binh Duong Customs Department held two meetings with Taiwanese and Korean enterprises. These are also two of the largest investing countries and territories in the province. Through these meetings, Provincial Customs grasped the situation, promptly encouraged, shared difficulties and implemented measures to actively support enterprises and investors in import and export activities, creating favorable conditions for enterprises to reinvest in production business activities.

According to Nguyen Truong Giang, Deputy Director of Provincial Customs Department, this branch quickly developed many scenarios and plans to accompany and assist enterprises to overcome difficulties. Many immediate support policies have been applied, helping businesses solve difficulties in production business activities. Provincial Customs continued to update information, monitor the production business situation of enterprises to promptly find ways to remove difficulties and create the most favorable conditions for import-export. Customs branches in the province have been monitoring the situation of enterprises, regularly hold meetings with enterprises, visit and encourage enterprises to overcome difficulties, stabilize production to create jobs for workers and contribute budget revenue.

At present, the province's socio-economic development is thriving. Many FDI enterprises assess that Binh Duong has made many efforts to improve its business environment, implemented many drastic measures to curb the Covid-19 pandemic. Businesses also recognized the province's active support in transforming into flexible production models, in resuming production and business in recent months.

Andrew Michael Lien, Director of Wanek Company, said that Wanek is a key unit in the supply chain of this leading furniture manufacturing group with 100% US investment capital and has a supply network including over 123 companies. In Binh Duong, Wanek has 4 factories, the number of workers before the Covid-19 was over 11,000. In 2021, the company went through an extremely difficult period, but with the support of the province, the company overcome this tough period. Up to now, their production and business activities have been recovered, life, income and employment of workers are guaranteed. The company continues to implement the project of an expanded bonded warehouse with a total investment of 140 million USD, is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023.

Decisively solve problems

Recently, Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, had a meeting with a representative of Lego Group (Denmark) to exchange some investment information in the province. At the meeting, Preben Elnef informed the provincial leaders about the progress of their factory construction in Binh Duong, difficulties and obstacles faced the corporation, especially about the approval of 1/5000 and 1/2000 plsnnings of VSIP 3 were delayed, affecting the land handover progress of the project. According to Vo Hoang Ngan, Director of Provincial Department of Construction, some changes in Vietnam's Construction Law resulted in this delay. The Department of Construction is making efforts to coordinate with agencies and branches to speed up the progress to quickly perform all procedures to complete the 1/5000 and 1/2000 plannings of VSIP 3.

After listening to comments from Lego Group, Nguyen Van Loi said Binh Duong identified this as an important project of Vietnam in general and Binh Duong in particular. The Prime Minister also directed Binh Duong to try its best to create favorable conditions for the completion of procedures in a timely manner, to support Lego Group to come into operation soon. Provincial leaders also went to the project site; the province committed to completing the 1/5000 and 1/2000 plannings of VSIP 3 as soon as possible.

Preben Elnef, Vice President of Lego Group,  appreciated the sincerity as well as the responsibility, companionship of the provincial leaders. The provincial government has been caring and sharing, especially the transparent and positive feedback, which has strengthened the company's confidence in the investment environment of the province.

The meeting with Lego Group is just one of hundreds of meetings of provincial leaders, leaders of departments, branches and localities in the province in order to promptly solve difficulties in production business activities for enterprises in the province in recent years, in order to promote investment and strengthen the trust of enterprises in Binh Duong.
