Trade tensions and factors that increase this tensions, especially the current trade war between the US and China. This is a very difficult problem without effective solution. Richard Hames, Founder, President of Center for the Future (Australia), emphasized that at a session on "Geophysical tension" within the framework of Horasis 2019 held on 25 Nov.

Also at this dialogue, many participants were scientists, leaders of large corporations in many countries, such as India, Malaysia, Japan, and Canada, straightforwardly expressed their views, such as: Geopolitical tensions will affect global economic growth. Besides, the trade war between China and the US will probably escalate to a higher level, more stressful. China's steps in the East Sea region; Construction strategy of "One belt - One road"; the tension in Hong Kong ... All of these are causing much concern for economic development in Asia and globally.

Furthermore, the increasing protectionism globally and will pose many challenges. New trade agreements in times of geopolitical tensions are unlikely to help ASEAN economies to prosper.

Many delegates said that the parties needed to find many solutions to ease tensions to promote economic development towards sustainability, reducing the gap between rich and poor.
