Recently, Binh Duong Provincial Department of Industry and Trade has organized a workshop on power, putting the first bricks to construction of a long-term roadmap of power efficiency in Vietnamese products.
The power saving program initiated ever since 2009 was constructed by Ministry of Industry and Trade to promote awareness of power saving. The labeling program marks products with energy-efficient labels and bring such products closer to consumers. In field of lighting products and other electric appliances, manufacturers are supported by technology know-how.
Enterprises are getting to know more about energy-efficient label
In 2010, the ministry announced “Vietnamese Energy Star” which is now called “Comparative Energy Label” as certified energy-efficient label offering information about energy consumption, type of energy used and its effieciency so that consumers could compare between energy-efficient products. Those are practical measures to save up energy and reduce burden of electricity production. The five-star scale will be attached directly on package or body of the products.
Despite efforts, the ministry seemingly fails to maximize the broadcasting of energy-efficient label. The new measures are strange to common people’s habits and even to specialists.
Currently, the ministry rules and list out which equipments must have energy-efficient labels on them and proposes a roadmap with general requirements of energy efficency. Binh Duong Department of Industry and Trade will concentrate on broadcasting and reporting energy-efficient label.
The first 3 products are labeled with energy efficiency.
