Aiming for constructing Binh Duong province into a smart urbanity of sustainable development, local leaders, departments, and agencies have recently been more focused on the preservation and protection of environment. The inspection and sanctions related to the environment have also been more serious and drastic than before.
To improve environment quality
Mr. Mai Hung Dung, member of the Standing Party Committee of the province, permanent Deputy Chairman of Binh Duong provincial People’s Committee, asserted that the propaganda nad mobilization should be regular and deeply outreached to the business and residential communities, which is the buffer for voluntary and joint efforts of environment protection within the communities.
Mr. Mai Hung Dung receives and works with the delegation of Meti Kansai Economic Zone from Japan to promote economic cooperation and the field of environmental treatment and protection.
Mr. Ngo Quang Su, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, said that in the past time, the Department has assigned the Department Inspector to coordinate with the provincial State Inspectorate to carry out many inspections in the field of Natural Resources and Environment to many areas, organizations and individuals. Through the inspection, the functional sector has concluded and advised the competent authorities to make decisions to handle in accordance with regulations. Particularly for cases where enterprises tend to intentionally violate or re-violate regulations on handling, preserving and protecting the environment, in addition to advising on sanctioning plans, the Natural Resources and Environment sector also participates in advise the competent authorities to consider the plan to move them out of the residential area and have a plan for management and supervision more closely than before.
The results of air and water quality monitoring at monitoring stations in the province in recent years have improved significantly compared to previous years. The achievement is thanks to the perseverance and efforts of the entire political system, business community, and residents in the area. In particular, the collective of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Natural Resources and Environment sector at all levels have been considered as an important nucleus to create the common success, which also clearly reflects the positive changes in awareness of businesses and people.
Big goals of great determination
After completing the goal of socio-economic development in the direction of building a centralized industrial model, Binh Duong is continuing to move towards greater values. Specifically, the province is having a high determination in turning Binh Duong from an industrial city to a smart and sustainable city.
In order for this economic shift to take place quickly and successfully, from now to 2030, the province will perform many groups of tasks simultaneously. In particular, the first task is to successfully build a smart, open and transparent governance model and state management under the direct management and supervision of the provincial leaders. The second task is to increase investment attraction for groups of businesses that focus on developing science and technology and economic models with higher ‘gray matter’ contents. The third task is to actively support people and businesses in the area to carry out digital transformation, and participate in creative start-up activities, and gradually build and form a smart city.
Along with the above strategic goals, the province also focuses on investing in the treatment, preservation and protection of the environment. Clearly demonstrating this, the provincial leaders have recently had a meeting and worked with delegations specializing in providing solutions to treat and protect the environment from the Meti Kansai Economic Zone of Japan. Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Mai Hung Dung, permanent Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, said that Binh Duong always pays attention to environmental issues and the fact is that the province has invested a lot in environmental treatment activities in recent years for management, preservation and protection of the environment. Mr. Mai Hung Dung suggested that in the coming time, the government and businesses of the Kansai Economic Zone could accompany and support Binh Duong in implementing better environmental protection and treatment solutions.
In response to the leader of Binh Duong province, Mr. Hosokawa Yoichi, International Trade Director of Kansai Region Economic, Trade and Industry Department, head of the mission, said that he and the Meti Kansai delegation highly appreciated the efforts of environmental preservation and protection activities that Binh Duong has made in recent years. Mr. Hosokawa Yoichi also expects that in the coming time, Binh Duong and Meti Kansai will have a long and strong cooperation in the field of economic development cooperation in general and research, survey and environmental treatment activities in particular, which at the same time, affirms that Japan's advanced and modern environmental treatment technology will contribute to helping Binh Duong do better the problem of environmental treatment and protection.
