In recent days, tens of thousands of workers at many enterprises in Binh Duong province have held a moment of silence to commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and express their affection and respect for the General Secretary's great contributions to the Party, the country, and especially the workforce across the country. Many union officials and workers promise to continue striving to fulfill the tasks set by all levels in production and to better care for the workers' lives.

On the first day of national mourning, thousands of workers in Ben Cat City gathered solemnly and emotionally before the portrait of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to reflect on the General Secretary's great contributions to the Party, State, and people, especially to the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union.

Dinh Thi Huong, Chairwoman of the Grassroots Trade Union of Phong Thai Rubber Company (Tan Dinh Ward, Ben Cat City) said: “When we heard the news of the General Secretary's death, all company employees were very sad. The company held a ceremony for all employees to mourn and commemorate the General Secretary. The General Secretary is a shining example for all citizens of the country, including myself, to learn and continue to work and improve ethics. Grassroots Trade Union of Phong Thai Rubber Company will remember his teachings, which is to constantly study, protect the legitimate rights of workers, and create movements to take care of workers' lives better."

Attending the silent ceremony together with more than 600 workers at Vinh Nghia Shoes Company (Hoa Loi ward, Ben Cat city), Le Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of Labor Confederation of Ben Cat City, shared : “During his lifetime, no matter what position he held, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong always cared and had special affection for trade unions and workers. That is proven through the three Vietnam Trade Union Congresses, where General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong took the time to attend, encourage, and direct. The image of the General Secretary shaking hands and warmly encouraging workers every time Tet comes in the "Tet Reunion" program organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has become familiar, deeply imprinted in the minds of workers”.

For those workers who talked and listened to the words shared by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong when visiting and working in Binh Duong, they cherish his beautiful memories and teachings even more. Nguyen Thi Kim Nguyen, Head of Administration Department of Binh Duong Garment Joint Stock Company (Thuan An City), emotionally recalled: “When hearing the news of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's death, all workers in the company were silent, sad and could not control their emotions. I shed tears, in that moment I thought of the memorable images of him 11 years ago when he visited our company. I remember every gesture, smile, every word of him, and the General Secretary's thoughtful greetings to the collective of workers, and his affectionate embrace for the children at the company's kindergarten."

Meanwhile, Quach Thi Tuyet, a worker at Binh Duong Garment Joint Stock Company, said: “In recent days, the memory of the General Secretary always comes back to me when someone mentions him. I remember most the image of the General Secretary holding Luong Thi Thanh Phuong (Quach Thi Lien's child), who is now a high school student. The images of the gifts given by the General Secretary and his words echo forever in the memories of employees of Binh Duong Garment Joint Stock Company. Therefore, we always remember him and remember his advice to strive for good production and contribute to building Binh Duong province and the increasingly prosperous development of the country...".
