To speed up the implementation of road and bridge construction project connecting Binh Duong and Tay Ninh provinces

On August 10, Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the provincial National Assembly delegation, led a provincial delegation to survey the implementation progress of a number of infrastructure projects; inspect the investment in school facilities to prepare for the new school year 2022-2023 of Dau Tieng district.

“Can't delay any longer!”

Mr. Nguyen Van Loi emphasized that when he examined the road and bridge project connecting Binh Duong and Tay Ninh provinces in Dau Tieng town, Dau Tieng district. The project was started in mid-October 2020, is to welcome the 11th Party Congress of Binh Duong province, term 2020-2025. The project of roads and bridges connecting Binh Duong and Tay Ninh provinces is a cooperation between the two provinces to complete inter-regional traffic system in general, between Binh Duong province and Tay Ninh province in particular, in order to satisfy the traveling and transport demand of people, to encourage socio-economic development. The project has a total length of 800.39m, the road section through Binh Duong province is 377.7m long; the section in Tay Ninh province is 92.2m long.

The project is planned to be completed in 15 months. However, so far, 22 months have passed, but the work is still messy. Explaining the reason for this delay to the delegation, the contractor said that in addition to impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, the project execution process was affected by unfavorable weather conditions, continuous heavy rain made construction difficult. So far, the bridge deck has been completed, just waiting for the asphalt concrete mat. Particularly, the road to Tay Ninh province has been completed 80% and the road to Binh Duong province has been completed 60%. The contractor said that construction units would put more effort to complete the project in August, or early September if the weather is not favorable.

After listening to explanations of contractor and construction units, Nguyen Van Loi asked Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Management Board, Dau Tieng district, the contractor and construction units to speed up the progress because the project was delayed many times.

“Having to work around the clock, delay is no longer permitted, in the rush but must guarantee the quality of works to quickly put them into use. This is an inter-regional connection project that is very meaningful to the development of the two localities of Binh Duong and Tay Ninh as well as our region... ", the Provincial Party Secretary claimed.

To help disadvantaged students go to school

As checking the implementation progress of the project of renovation, upgrading and expansion of Long Tan Primary and Junior High School in Long Tan commune, Dau Tieng district, Nguyen Van Loi praised leaders of Dau Tieng district and education branch for their actively investing in building school facilities to prepare for the new school year 2022-2023. According to Education and Training Office of Dau Tieng district, in the school year 2022-2023, the district will put into use Minh Tan Primary School, expand Long Hoa Primary School, Long Tan Primary School, Thanh Tuyen Primary School with a budget of nearly 198 billion VND to meet the teaching and learning demands in the area.

Ta Tan Tuan, Head of the District Education and Training Office, also said that there were 19 preschools in Dau Tieng district, including 17 public schools and 2 non-public schools. In addition, the whole district has 4 private daycare groups with about 80 children. Compared to the last school year, it is expected that in school year 2022-2023 the whole district’s children number would increase by over 350. Also in the school year 2022-2023, the district's educational staffing plan is 1,690 people, including 1,354 officials, 276 people under the contract under Decree 68 of the Government.

The Provincial Party Secretary appreciated the preparation for the new school year of Dau Tieng district; and said that school facilities met the required conditions for teaching and learning activities, but the district must have a good plan for teaching staff. Provincial Department of Education and Training must promptly report to provincial leaders for a coherent policy on teacher recruitment to meet the demands of education branch in localities. In particular, Nguyen Van Loi asked Dau Tieng district to mobilize all resources together with the local government to best take care of students having difficult circumstances, especially those were affected by the Covid-19.

He asked communes, towns, neighborhoods and hamlets to closely visit and update the situation of poor worker’s children in order to have a plan to support and help them go to school. "It is a must that all students are able to go to school, even poor students", the Provincial Party Secretary asked Dau Tieng district in particular and the whole province in general to pay more attention and mobilize more resources to take care of poor students, create all favorable conditions for all school-age students to go to school.
