To speed up the implementation of surveillance camera systems, traffic management, security and order and sanction of administrative violations

In the afternoon of August 24, Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of Binh Duong provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Duong province chaired an online meeting with localities on the progress of deploying the surveillance camera system, traffic management and security order and sanction of administrative violations in the province according to Decision 767/QD-UBND dated March 30, 2022 of the provincial People's Committee (hereinafter referred to as Decision 767).

Implementing Decision 767, the provincial Department of Information and Communications has coordinated with relevant units to survey National Highway 13 at the section through Ben Cat town, thereby agreeing to choose 3 complicated traffic intersections to pilot implementation of surveillance cameras, traffic management, security and order and sanction of administrative violations. A business will finance the entire cost of equipment and hire a domestic partner to install the camera system. Particularly, the Department of Information and Communications is responsible for connecting and sharing camera data at the 3 new installation locations mentioned above into the Center for Operations, Traffic Management, Security and Order in Ben Cat town with other related units.

The provincial Police advised the provincial People's Committee to establish a Steering Committee and a Working Group to effectively implement Decision 767. At the same time, it should consult relevant agencies and units to submit to the provincial People's Committee for a plan to implement the investment project of installing fire surveillance cameras, security and traffic safety monitoring system in the province. Currently, 4 localities in the province have issued plans to implement Decision 767.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Vo Van Minh emphasized that the implementation of Decision 767 is the consistent policy of the provincial People's Committee to apply information technology to the management and supervision of security, order and traffic safety. Therefore, localities and relevant departments and branches need to speed up the implementation of Decision 767. During the implementation process, the units should pay attention to choose the investment method to install the camera system quickly and efficiently to ensure that all intersections and key areas have the camera systems. Provincial and local police need to unify routes and locations to install cameras to avoid overlaping.
