The pride

At any time as the message of Zalo group of COVID-19 community of Binh Duong Newspaper rang up, Binh Duong Newspaper reporters immediately accepted the tasks, not afraid of difficulties and dangers, to be ready at the "hot spot" of the epidemic to accurately, quickly and truthfully convey information to readers. That was how the COVID-19 volunteering group had worked during the peak months of COVID-19 anti-epidemic in the province.

Starting from the task of propagating and recreating the panorama of the epidemic prevention and control, right from the early days of the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Editorial Board of Binh Duong Newspaper quickly established the COVID-19 Team of 9 members including enthusiastic, experienced reporters in the field, divided into two lines: frontline works at epidemic hotspots and related activities, the backline that closely followed charity and social activities to supports people along with policies and regimes for workers and residents affected by the Covid-19 epidemic. In the midst of the pandemic's difficulties, great pressure on news, the members of the team still ensured to quickly, accurately, truthfully and vividly transmit information about COVID-19 prevention and control to readers as well as orienting public opinion in the role of a bridge between people and professional agencies.

The birth of the COVID-19 Team not only demonstrated the pioneering mission of the reporters in COVID-19 prevention and control but also illuminated the brave fighting spirit and true values of the press under CPV management and localities with joint hands to fight the epidemic. Understanding the role and meaning of the tasks, the reporters were even more proud when they were honored to be selected as a member of the team with the promise to "do their best" to overcome difficulties and well complete the tasks. Reporter Do Trong said: “It was an honor and pride to be trusted by the Editorial Board and assigned to be a member of the COVID-19 Team. I have always tried to promote a high sense of responsibility to complete the assigned tasks.”

Along with the establishment of the COVID-19 Team, the Editorial Board also strongly directed the entire agency to join hands and stand side by side with the epidemic prevention and control forces. There was a time when even its staff was infected and forced to partially quarantine the newspaper agency, but with the creativity and dynamism of the Editorial Board, it performed well the "dual" task of publication and epidemic prevention and control. In these days of separation, Binh Duong Newspaper Office and specialized departments are always busy with work regardless of day or night. Thousands of articles, news, photos and stories on the epidemic have still regularly published in prints, online Binh Duong Newspapers and social networking platforms to serve the needs of readers.

The dare

Journalism work during the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic has become one of the unforgettable marks on reporters and journalists. In the center of the epidemic, many pictures and stories had left deep impressions and readers touched; especially, when witnessing the forces straining against the epidemic, which seemed to make every reporter forget about the dangerous hardships that are lurking in the highly concentrated work to reflect the true breath of the fight against the epidemic to readers.

Reporter Minh Duy was willing to stay at the agency for many months under quarantine and treatment while facing the risk of infection to take images, news and stories that spread emotions to the readers. Reporter Minh Duy confided: “Working in epidemic areas was really a big challenge for writers. The fight against the epidemic has shown me the dedication to the profession and the responsibility to the society of the journalists. Although it was hard but when the work was warmly received by readers, I forgot my fatigue and continued the meaningful task of the profession. In order to have beautiful camera angles in hot protective suits, drenched in sweat, I still strive to capture the best and most expensive moments of the doctors and nurses in this tough battle."

As for reporter Quang Tam, his working trips during the epidemic were confided that he appreciated the silent sacrifices of soldiers who silently perform their duties on the front lines. Nearly 20 years of experience in journalism, having traveled to many places and interactied with many people to face a high risk of infection, but he was not afraid or faltered. Along with equipping himself with knowledge to protect himself, he chose to "take the responsibility". He also added that, having entered the battle and knowing that it was dangerous, the mission did not allow him to stop. There were journalists who did interviews with F0 the day before and a few days later also became infected.
