Tourist arrivals to Binh Duong increase by 27%

 Over the first 9 months of 2024, the whole province attracted 2.8 million tourist arrivals, an increase of 27%, with estimated revenue reaching 1,790 billion VND, an increase of 19% over the same period in 2023. However, the contribution of the tourism industry to the province's GRDP remains very low, below 1%.

Tourists to Binh Duong province were mainly day visitors, accounting for more than 80%; overnight visitors accounted for a relatively low proportion, leading to its contribution not being commensurate with the province's socio-economic development.

According to the authorities, the reason is that most of the tourist routes have not been effectively exploited to become truly attractive destinations for domestic and foreign tourists. Currently, the provincial tourism industry is focusing on types of tourism, such as: tours of Tuong Binh Hiep lacquer craft village, Tan Phuoc Khanh pottery craft village, Hung Dinh pottery craft village; visit ancient architectural works (ancient houses) bearing Binh Duong cultural identity combined with traditional festivals, riverside tourism combined with ecotourism, visit fruit gardens in Lai Thieu (Thuan An city), Dau Tieng district...

These types of tourism only bring high economic and cultural value when there is a suitable investment and promotion strategy.
