Various activities
Getting back to Bac Tan Uyen district in the early days of May, we noticed that the network of trade and services in the district is becoming more and more diversified as the participation of all economic sectors helps to provide more products and goods to consumers, at the same time, attracts and creates jobs for many to actively contribute to the budget and promote general economic growth of the home district.
Along with traditional markets, business establishments in the area increased in quantity and scale of operations. DH411 previously born quite sparse business establishments has covered with shops and bank branches beside business households which can easily exchange goods and people have more choices. Nguyen Thi Le, a resident of Quarter 2 of Tan Thanh town, said: "The rural area was sparsely populated before as not many shops, remote post office and banks making shopping and delivery activities difficult. The epidemic was another hard time, but now everything is easy and convenient for people."
As noted at this time, the goods at the traditional markets are quite rich, but due to the difficult economic situation, the purchasing power is somewhat reduced. Ngo Thi Hoa, a small grocery trader at Dat Cuoc market, said: "The store maintains a number of regular customers, so it still ensures income. However, in general, purchasing power decreased because workers have tightened their spending.” Similarly, Tran Thi Lien, a small trader at Tan Thanh market of Tan Thanh town, said that the number of people coming to shop is quite modest though at market time. Small traders still maintain stable prices to serve customers some relative service."
The modern retail form is also more diversified with the operation of convenience stores contributing to stimulating consumer demand. Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, manager of Bach Hoa Xanh store system in Bac Tan Uyen area, shared: “The 4 Bach Hoa Xanh stores located in the district always ensure a variety of products and stable prices. Every week, the store coordinates with brands and suppliers to launch promotions and incentives for customers when shopping."
It can be seen that in order to contribute to completing the task of economic growth in general, localities in the district have made great efforts to overcome difficulties and implement solutions to promote the development of trade and services. According to Le Ngoc Dung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Thanh town, the amount of basic goods in the first quarter fully served the needs of the people as the prices of goods were clearly listed without speculation for hiking prices. Food safety and hygiene were always interested in directing and organizing propaganda by the town People's Committee to ensure people's health.
The synchronous infrastructure development
With the joint efforts of all economic sectors and solutions to deploy development tasks right from the first months of the year, service and trade activities in localities have grown steadily. In order to serve the consumption and trade needs of the rural district people and to promote the socio-economic development of each locality, the district has paid special attention to investment and construction of rural commercial infrastructure. Newly invested and built Tan Dinh market is located in Tan Dinh commune is now quite spacious. Bui Thi Thuy Linh, a small trader at former Tan Dinh marketplace said: "Knowing that the new market has been built, many small traders and I are very excited with a look forward to switching because the old market has deteriorated and the roadway is very poor, making the market entry small and hard, which is detrimental to trading activities.”
Vu Thi Kim Phuong, Chairwoman of Tan Dinh commune People's Committee, said: “The newly built Tan Dinh Market contributes to changing the face of the countryside and developing local businesses. Besides upgrading and building markets, the commune encourages households with houses in convenient locations to develop businesses and services. Currently, the commune has 40 businesses and 175 household businesses in operation, which is very convenient for the development of trade and services.
A highlight contributing to the growth of commercial and service value for the district is the participation of businesses and individuals in the development of eco-tourism. Farms such as Sol Retreat, Lam Thanh Thuong in Hieu Liem commune, Nguyen Van Tien in Tan Dinh commune, and other eco-tourism and experiential models have been contributing to the trade and service economy in Bac Tan Uyen to be more prosperous.
