For 9 months of 2022, Provincial Labor Confederation directed Trade Unions at all levels to implement key tasks, closely followed the motto "Taking care of jobs and lives of employees to fulfill goals and tasks set by the 12th Vietnam Trade Union Congress Resolution”. Therefore, employees in the province have been taken care of in all aspects.

 To improve lives

Recently, Labor Confederation of Tan Uyen Town has coordinated with units and businesses to organize the program "Welfare sales - For the benefit of union members and employees" in places where many employees live and work. Trade unions informed trade union members about welfare programs, sold necessities and services at 2%-50% discounts. Most recently, Labor Confederation of Tan Uyen Town has opened 19 welfare booths selling essential items, such as fish sauce, soy sauce, rice, cooking oil, sugar, washing powder... Workers were able to freely choose and buy products with preferential prices.

Thi Hong, a worker at Master Craff Co., Ltd (Tan Phuoc Khanh ward, Tan Uyen Town), said that in the past 3 months, her income only reached nearly 6 million VND/month, because her company had few orders and no working overtime. Meanwhile, her husband had a serious illness, she had to work to provide for two children and pay for her husband's medical expenses, so their lives became even more hard. “My income decreased, market price increased, so every time when trade union opens a discount sale, my colleagues and I in my company and lodging house notify each other to go together and buy necessities at a cheap price. I find this program very practical for union members and workers”, said Hong.

Nguyen Phuoc Hau, grassroots Trade Union Chairwoman of Dai Hoa Company (Uyen Hung ward, Tan Uyen town), said that the Trade Union notify the whole company of every welfare sale so that employees can buy discounted quality products.

Le Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of Tan Uyen Town Labor Confederation, said that suppliers of these welfare programs were carefully selected by the town's Labor Confederation, they must meet some standards, like quality assurance, reputable brands, have a good warranty policy, timely and good return policy... all are for union members and employees to buy good quality products at cheap prices, helping workers save some expenses and improve lives.

To prepare a plan for Tet supporting activities

One of important activities carried out by trade unions at all levels during the past few months is to actively coordinate with businesses to implement Decision No. 08/2022/QD-TTg dated March 28th 2022 of the Prime Minister on housing rental support for union members and employees. In addition, trade unions at all levels were proactive in membership development. Namely, in the past 9 months, the province established 157 grass-roots trade unions, reaching 84.9%; and increased membership to 37,548, reaching 41.7% target of the year. The whole province has now 4,108 grassroots trade unions with 818,164 trade union members out of a total of 878,517 laborers in organizations that have trade unions...

In addition, the Provincial Trade Union also actively collaborated with other branches to resolve collective labor disputes and strikes related to salary, Tet bonus, update the laborers’ situation after Tet, recruitment demand of firms in the province... Trade unions at all levels also organized a series of meaningful and practical events in Workers' Month - Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health in 2022... In particular, Support Fund for laborers living in extremely difficult circumstances established by the provincial Labor Confederation has promptly aided many union members and employees living in extremely difficult circumstances, suffering from serious diseases, and having occupational accidents. Up to now, the fund has supported 702 worker cases, each case received from VND4 to VND10 million, with total expenditure of over 6.5 billion VND.

Nguyen Kim Loan, Chairwoman of the Provincial Labor Confederation, said that in the last months of 2022, the provincial Trade Unions will focus on reviewing key targets and tasks of the year and the whole tenure to implement more effectively. Trade Unions focused on low indicators, carefully prepared for trade union congresses at all levels. From now until the end of 2022, provincial Trade Unions at all levels actively develop plans to organize Tet care activities for laborers, especially those having special difficulties, serious illnesses, and occupational accidents…
